VERY SHADY EMAIL STRING WITH A PERSON FROM SGTSCIGARS.COM

Just like when ol' Purobrat or Lumberg would find the need to defend a chucklehead, you knew you were on the right track!

Link to craigslist shows thread deleted.

I think the whole email was a sham. The guy writes like a bad novel and even the response from the sgt.cigar seems awfully scripted. I don't know anyone who writes like that...at least not anyone who writes non-fiction.

Yea, it just didn't add up. I think he developed this little scheme because he knew he couldn't unload any cigars on us until after 4 months were up. On his original listing, he simply stated "selling off my sticks....." He only had a 3 posts before this, and obviously didn't want to contribute in the month he has had here.

edited to correct # of posts he had

Or the listing was reported.

ooops: "This posting has been deleted by its author."

So JibMaster posted an ad on Craigslist to sell his cigars - no problem with that. He hasn't been here four months, therefore he can sell his cigars whereever he likes, for whatever price he likes - we're not the internet police. I'm sure we all agree on that. The story gets fishy when sgt cigars inquired about the sale, and offered to buy the whole lot. Then JibMaster asks the guy how he's going to sell the cigars...? Why do you care how he intends to sell the cigars, or for what price? Hell, he can sell them for $100 ea on ebay with $200 shipping. That's none of your business, or anyone elses business. The fact that you brought this story to CP, and then tried to make yourself look like a shining star by refusing to sell to sgt cigars is a clear attempt to prance around our rules, in hopes that you'll sell your stash to a reputable member of CP. I've been around long enough to see through bullshit, so don't try to pitch this story any other way.

You're free to remain a member of CP assuming you lose the attitude and don't try anything like this again. Any further negating of our rules will result in a ban. I don't think you want to go down that route, the number of quality cigar communities is very slim at the moment. ;) Up to you on how you choose to proceed.

They walk among us...

You guys were right. I'm sorry.

Miss your Malt-o-meal this morning, John?

I don't really know what you mean by that, so either "fuck off" or "no, I had a granola bar". Please tell me which is appropriate and I'll line through the other.

Just coming to the realization that it's not worth it to (publicly) give people the benefit of the doubt. I end up getting tagged as the bad guy and the end result with the new member is never changed. Is this what "getting it" is supposed to mean?

He means you're slacking...due to lack of nutrition

(I took it as a joke.)

----------------------

As far as the second part, the new fellows are given the benefit of doubt.
Having dealt with many folks, patterns become more obvious...especially at the extremes.
Some people are able see through the bull more quickly due to this...even the typed bull.

Heck, I think most people just give folks enough rope...and see what happens. ;)

Join the long list of folks that don't get my metaphors. I chose the latter.

What led you to this conclusion? How many have put you on ignore or told you that you're an asshole? Try eating more protein. Did that memo come back yet? You are the only one who can answer the "getting it" question since "it" is unique to the individual.

Well, obviously I'm still behind you pulling rope off the reel while you've stopped giving it out.

I see the same "fishy" things as other folks, but I always try to give the offender the benefit of the doubt. Assume good will, you know? I just need to stop.

If he is a business owner he CANNOT purchase tobacco and resell it as a business entity without a valid tobacco retailers license, and cannot BUY it from anyone without a valid tobacco distributors license. If this guy owned a business he should be more than willing to provide his license information for tax purposes. But, he should also be very concerned about your license as well. If he was buying it as an individual(under the table) to then markup and sell as a business that would be considered very illegal.

Don't go getting yourself perforated because you want to assume positive intent with the locals.
