You posted something you felt was odd and the experienced members here posted something that they felt was odd. The worst thing you could've done was respond in the way that you did, you could've just as easily said "I'm sorry if it seems like I am trying to sell the sticks here but I was honestly just trying to share with you something I thought was a bit off." If someone calls you out on this site don't overreact, if you're being honest then explain the situation, and if you're not then you probably shouldn't worry about coming back. I'm sure the latter is not the case so just keep your cool. Responding in the way you did kind of puts you in the same boat as the guy from craigslist when he freaked out and told you not to bother emailing him back.
As far as craigslist goes, I've had some very shady conversations with folks there and have decided to just avoid doing any dealings there. I'll randomly check on the site to see if there are any good deals and might even send out an e-mail or two, but I haven't bought anything from it in quite some time.
