Several of my packages, both inbound and outbound, are traveling all over the country. I filed an insurance claim on one particular package and after being jerked around for a month, they basically said tough shit.

They suck so bad! After an unbelievable denial of an insurance claim I put many hours in to I no longer get insurance from usps. Total waste of money. They DO NOT pay claims.

I use UPS for most things anymore. If you use pirateship.com for the labels it's usually close enough to be the same price, sometimes even cheaper than USPS.
If I understand correctly with pirate ship you are still using USPS to ship your packages? The problem with USPS isn't the money, they are just horribly unreliable in their shipping.

I'm curious if you have ever had to file a claim with pirate ship for a failed shipment by USPS?

PirateShip has many shipping options including usps and ups. You get bulk rate shipping costs which can be as much as half off. I always use them for shipping now.

I might have to look into them
Can you save address?

I agree, they are terrible. Out of 6 very recent packages both incoming and outgoing, only 1 was on time.

I guess I have been lucky, I have had no issues in a long time with the USPS, but I will look into Pirate Ship

I sent a box to a member last week and it's literally departing the sorting facility and arriving at the sorting facility. The problem is, it's the same sorting facility that it departed from and arrived to THREE TIMES NOW!

I have seen this a lot recently and you just have to wonder. I currently have inbound packages from group buys that have gone to places they should never go, gone back and forth between facilities, sat for 3-4 days, etc.

Is their scanning system a mess?
Are their processes sloppy?
Are their people lazy, untrained, uneducated?
All of the above?

I created an account on Pirateship and did a couple test labels. I see the potential for nice savings!

Thank you!

@Rod Rod, would it be a good idea to create a thread and pin it to hep save the community some money?

I’ve thought about making a post about pirate ship but it felt too much like promotion. Used it for many years now and has saved me and more importantly my customers tons of money. It is a bit of a pain in the ass compared to usps click n ship but nice to have other shipping options and the savings can be immense.

Just pray your packages don’t go through Detroit regional processing center or whatever it’s called…better odds winning the lotto I think.

A big shout out to you for bringing Pirateship to our attention!

I created an account and I used it to ship a couple packages out to brothers and I am sooooo glad I did not have to use USPS, and it was less expensive!

I am going to create a thread on this so that others can take advantage of Pirateship.com

Just had a USPS experience... had some cigars that were supposed to arrive yesterday at my UPS Store mailbox. USPS tracking said at 4:55pm they they attempted to deliver but could not becuause the business was closed. The same business that is open until 7 M-F. The same business that I stopped by later that evening to grab something and they were open... WTF.

On the bright side, package arrived today.
