USC LOSES to UCLA!

Hell, I'm just glad USC won't be going to the title game again! Seeing them fall ALMOST eases some of the pain from the Hogs loss.

Florida will go.

The dumbest match up would be with Michigan again. For one they don't deserve it and two, they don't deserve it. :) Geez, you Michigan fans should accept the loss and move on.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Michigan/USC match up. Would prob be a better game than the Ohio/Florida game.

Florida should go, without question. Based on strength of schedule, which they have played and defeated higher ranked teams(with tough schedules) than Michigan has. This ranking system is pure bullshit if Florida doesn't go the the championship game. Regardless, it is a piece of crap, because LSU should be #1 (just jerking your chain CC) :sign:

Michigan beat Penn State on October 14th 17-10, Penn State was not ranked in the top 25 at that time.

I think Penn State and Iowa were ranked when we played them.

Sheeesh

How many ranked teams did Michigan play this year? (Two and one of them you LOST to one of them).

Two??? Yes we lost to #1 by 3 on the road.
Beat Currently ranked #6 Wisconsin and held them to negative rushing yards.
Beat the crap out of currently ranked #12 N.D.
I think Penn State and Iowa were ranked when we played them.

Sheeesh

No, they were not......
Iowa finished at 2-6 in the conference and Penn State's highest "ranking" this year was "Also receiving votes"

When you played Wisconsin, they were not ranked. Wisconsin didn't play ANY ranked teams this year other than MIchigan. They DID NOT have to play Ohio State, they barely beat Iowa (who sucks as previously mentioned in the last paragraph) and they had to come from behind to beat Illinois who is DEAD LAST in the Big Ten and finished the year 2-10 (almost 3-9 had they held on against Wisconsin). Wisconsin has no business being ranked 6th in the nation now.

Your spin is quite interesting though but not very convincing.

Actually Michigan defeated several ranked teams this season. Their wins against West Virginia, Louisville and Oklahoma were near blow outs.

/la-la-la

What drugs are you taking? ??? Michigan did NOT play any of those teams this season.

Why do you lie? ???

Lie, how can you accuse me of lying? I actually forgot something, that heartwarming win over OSU on the road like two weeks ago. Geez, what reality are you guys living in?

/my spin is more interesting and more convincing, if it were true.

As a Buckeye Alumni living in SEC land, I don't care who we play, as I have my trip to Glendale booked!

There are valid arguments for both a Michigan rematch and for Florida to play in the championship game as well.

Strength of schedule - Michigan #3 - Florida #1

Although to Michigan's credit their out of conference opponents were all 1A schools, although they barely beat Ball State which should be a 1AA team.

Michigan didn't win the Big Ten; Florida won the SEC. Winning your conference should be a requirement for playing in the national championship, as was shown a couple of years ago, when Oklahoma got bombed by USC and an undefeated Auburn team beat VA Tech.

Until there's a playoff in Division 1A, this debate will rage on every year.

Bring on whoever is #2, and give The Buckeyes their third shot at beating the #2 team in the country this season!

Go Buckeyes!!

Bingo.... good post Jack.

As far as I'm concern Ohio St is already the National Champion by a long shot. The fact that any team can beat another on any given day means that if Florida beats them they will win the championship.... even though Ohio St would beat them 9 out of 10 times. I suppose if a playoff was devised sports writers and cigar BB enthusiast wouldn't have anything to argue about. ;)

Regardless of who plays I'll be cheering for Ohio St as their program deserves the championship.

Go Buckeyes!

Actually, I like all of them, Ohio State, Michigan and Florida so it really doesn't make a difference to me. But from a fairness standpoint, I think Florida should play Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl this year for the reasons that others have touched on in this thread.

Penn State is actually my favorite Big Ten team and Florida and South Carolina are my two favorites in the SEC however, I have a lot of respect for other SEC teams like Auburn, Alabama and yeah, even LSU :D Arkansas, Tennessee, and Georgia aren't too shabby either. ;) Vandy, Ole Miss, Miss St. and Kentucky are harmless so how can ya "hate" them. :sign:

On the other hand, I think the PAC-10 is overrated and so is USC which is why I started this thread in the first place.

I'm glad to see that USC is OOP (out of picture).

Florida and South Carolina are my two favorites in the SEC ...

Then you should be real happy for the raise and extension Spurrier got over the weekend!!

Spurrier

Word got out he was "flirting" with Alabama after they fired Shula, and next thing you know .... new deal!!

Not too bad for a coach who's 14 - 10 over the past two seasons!! :whistling:

I think he's living off his "glory days" at The University of Florida, but who am I to argue with the powers that be at South Carolina, it's their money!!

Well, trust me, Alabama fans dont want Spurrier...he sucks...but onto Florida/Michigan...The Gators are a good team...They are not my favorite in the SEC you all know that, but i grew up as a fan regardless...they won their conference...they deserve to play, not Michigan...sorry just the meager opinions of a GIRL.

Future Head Coach of the TIDE
