Just wanted to post a quick note to a few brothers who are looking forward to the Buffalo Trace Anitque Collection's fall bottleing.

My various sources in Michigan tell me it has not yet hit shelves, though they think it should in the next few weeks.

Some have had more luck

Brothers: Wherever you are, please look for these rare bottles to keep in you whiskey collection. It does not get much better in the bourbon line and they all go great with Oliva Master Blends...and others...actually even White Owls they are so good.

Yes AVB, even pomegranate!

Live the good life, you deserve it.

Michigan will not see the BTAC until mid November at it's earliest, I spoke to the michigan Rep a couple weeks ago and he said they have not shipped to the distributor yet. KY gets them first and they will see them I bet next week. Last years hut Kentucky shelves the week before Halloween and a friend brought me one of each to see what needed to be ordered for my stash. I think they should be on track to hit those dates again this year.

Good luck and Happy Hunting.

Tony

when you get your hands on this years batch, please post your thoughts as it may take a while for it to crawl into other markets.

Enjoy...

Just received a call and it has landed in some stores in Kentucky today. I will have mine Monday as I am going to Kentucky for a Barrel selection on Tuesday at Four Roses.

I will post notes when I return, maybe Wednesday night.

Let the mad rush begin!!

Tony

Barrel selection? You buying a whole barrel of Four Roses??

Can't wait for these to hit either my local or the websites out of state.

Hey Greg, not my personally, A good friend owns a Liquor store in Lexington KY and he has invited me an three of my buddies down for the selecting. I received an email from Jim Rutledge that he was selecting our barrels this week and was working on making our final decision a very difficult one for our Single Barrel. I gave him some warehouse locations off my 40th bottlings in hopes I can find one close to that profile. I'll keep you posted.

I will be buying half the barrel for myself and my bourbon loving friends, but none the less I am not buying a barrel.

Cheers!

These have landed in KY. Got the call today. I'll be picking up all 5 bottles tomorrow morning. I will update with pictures tomorrow afternoon.

I'm really, really wanting to try the Sazerac 18. Have to keep looking; the local place has a good history when it comes to getting this kind of thing onto the shelves.

The Sazerac Rye sold out in under an hour this morning!!

Nice score, Ian! Did the price go up from last year? I've heard rumors....

Hopefully if my local doesn't get all of them I can pick up others on Shoppers Vineyard or another site.

Damn Ian you nabbed the whole line up. Any info on the Stagg? I hope it gets in around here soon. I reserved a case of Stagg and Weller. If they get the Handy I'll have to pick up a bottle. Ive never had it.

Damon

I have had all five now and for the record, this years Stagg I would compare to my bottle of SPRING 2005 Kentucky only release. At 141.8 proof it puts the 2006 and 2007 to shame! It is really that good. This years Larue Weller at 125.3 and from what I understand is last years whiskey, one year older. I find that really hard to believe because this bottle is also better than last years...not by a little bit, way better. The Handy at 127 is way more drinkable uncut than last years as well.

I guess I'm just saying all the new releases are great! Well I'm not a huge fan of the Saz 18 since it's been in stainless since 2006. But it taste about the same as last years which is good for a 90 proofer.

Stock up fellas I did.

Tony

Ian, not yet I bet they will not hit here until mid November but if you PM me you order I will pick it up and you could make a trip up and grab it? Or I can PM you when it hits. I went to Kentucky last Monday night and picked all my stuff up. We stayed at a friends place and tried all 5.

If you add 40% water to the Stagg and take it down to 101 proof, you would have Eagle Rare 101 from back in the day! We did a side by side with the 2 and they were very related.

If you make it up to my place for your order I have a little over 50 Bourbons open and we can have a small tasting if you like.

Cheers!

Tony

LOL damn I thought I was doing ok with around 25 bottles of bourbon/scotch/rum.

I talked to a liquor distributor tonight at a cigar event and he said he just got word that the BTAC allocation for North Texas was just confirmed and they should have them by the first of December. The bad part is he said they're only getting 4 of them and he didn't know which ones. I suspect the Saz 18 may be the one left out but I hope not.
