WTF was that? I have no excuse but to apologize for the behaviour of our team...

A SAD, SAD Steelers Fan!!!

That was a great win. The NYG defense showed up when it mattered and Manning showed who was the better QB.
Let's go Giants!!!

As a Giants fan, I was embarrassed by their Offensive play calling...no adjustments at the half...they just kept running the ball up the middle forcing 3rd and long all day. Finally Eli does a play action and finds Boss in the end zone...where was that all game?

They were so lucky the Defense pulled that one out.

But a win is a win.....all 4 NFC East teams won today....6-1 Baby!

I'm going to call this one a good strategic move, but a huge gamble. In hindsight of the game, it seems like the NYG plan was to wear down the Steeler's defense. They ran the ball so many times against the proclaimed #1 defense in the NFL, and more than once opted for risky plays, especially those 4th down conversions. Plus with the Giants offense trying to control the game clock in the offense, and saving their defensive team's stamina for the second half, showed great results, especially on the Steeler's final possession. It might have seemed sloppy, but I found the game well played, I'm sure more people would have realized this strategy if it wasn't for the announcers over the top dramatic dialogues during the game.

edit - the proof is in the numbers, Eli was pressured many times, but no sacks, and the Giants didn't turn over the ball once.

I am taking the win against a very good steelers team and running for the door. I am not thinking about how bad the offense was but rather how well the defense played!

I took my wife to her first Steeler game yesterday, we scored some amazing tickets. It’s a shame that they lost but we really had a good time. Live band in the parking lot and they also had a live band inside the stadium. Found some good beer to drink, Harpoon IPA, and some wings to eat, Quaker Steak and Lube. Crowd was great, my voice is gone and my ears are still ringing.

It's not that the offense was so bad. It's that the offensive play calling was so bad.. I find Gilbride too often retreats to the run Brandon up the middle on first and second, then try to throw on third and long. It's incredibly frustrating to watch.. But yeah, thank god for the defense..

Every team has an 'off' day. Yesterday was ours. The offense just wasn't hitting on all cylinders. I don't think having Santonio in would have changed much. Nate is fast! Looking forward to the rematch in the Super Bowl.

it was both a great game and a bad game all mixed into one, but a win is a win and i will take it.
that play that butler seemed confused on to let the steelers go up on was weird like butler gave up running or something then was lost. But like i said a win is a win.

go blue!!!

Careful......too much blue cool-aid will make you sick. And the jury is still out on Manning.

WOW.....Pittsburgh hung tough with a lot of critical injuries and absences but in the end, our O-line stinks and we didn't blitz like we normally do!

I never looked at it like that :whistling:

You're kidding...right? Coming off a Super Bowl win of an undefeated team last year and they're 6-1 this year...and having just beat the the team with the #1 Defense in the NFL...

STOP already :whistling: ....jury out  ....blue kool-aid

Your team blitzed their asses off, what game did you watch? The Giants just picked it up and Manning threw the ball away before too much damage was done...come on, stop your whining

No I'm not kidding, I think if these two teams played 100 times the Steelers would win 70 of them ;) Time will tell........and Manning is still not a leader. You could see this when he was giving his pep talk to the offense and "every" one of them had that look like "get out of the way kid, I can't see the game"

That being said, you came to one of the toughest places in the NFL to win and you pulled it out......congrats

I suppose Eli wasn't a leader at the goal line when he LED your team into believing he was actually handing the ball off to Jacobs only to find Boss in the end zone.
That's a good enough leader for me. Eli Manning, reigning Superbowl MVP and quarterback for the reigning champs!

Speaking objectively, the true MVP of Super Bowl 42 was Wes Welker. I don't think Manning deserved that award, but Cadillac just likes to give it to someone on the winning team, usually the QB.

Both teams played good football, and I still stand by my theory of the Giant's using a battle of attrition strategy, plus we can't discount the fact that a few unforseen factors in the Steelers led to their loss, such as the long snap that resulted in a safety, and the gradual decline of their kicker. But the lack of sacks in the game leaves me wondering if the Steelers are still worthy of their standing as the #1 defense in the league.

Yeah, I forgot, it only takes one play to make a great QB :whistling: Actually the long timing pass to the six yard line on 4th and 4 was the best play he had in the game, and maybe all season. That was a classic great play!

THere's only one game that really counts and it's the last one of the season. As long as the Black & Gold hoist the trophy, then all is right with the world. :sign:

As for MVP's - I don't really agree with an award that singles out an individual. Football is a team sport, correct? There wouldn't be a star quarterback if there's no offensive line to block the pass rush or if the wide receiver doesn't catch the ball. Anybody remember Carson Palmer?

But enough sermonizing. Kudos to the Giants for winning it all last year and for beating my team this week.
