I understand that many think that this is the "Be all, End all" of beer, but damn that is a lot of money to pay for it. And knowing that it directly goes against the wishes of the Monks that brew it, well IMHO it just seems wrong.

Eh, it's the best beer I have had so far, but the St. Bernardus Abt 12 (60th Anniversary "Special Edition") in the tin is pretty damn close, and its $11 for a 22 bomber. I believe used to contract out some brewing for Westy as well. A lot of people feel the Bernardus 60th is almost identical to the Westy 12. But you know, like I said before, people thinking nothing of dropping 50 or even a 100 on a bottle of wine, and I think a beer of this complexity and taste is worth the same.

Someone is welcome to jump in my place...I ended up getting in touch with him directly and also picking up some bottles Westy 8, Struise Pannepot, Pannepeut and Black Albert :cool: David is very easy to deal with and shipped quickly...hopefully I should have my box of 24 by early next week.
