Slice of orange peel
5 dashes regular bitters
5 dashes black walnut bitters
Muddle
Add one cherry and 1/4 spoon of cherry juice
Give the cherry one little squish but don't muddle it
One ounce sprite
Three ounces whiskey
One ice cube
Stir for 30 seconds
Notes- the sprite addition seems to be a northerner thing, try it.
Cherries matter. Cheap cherries don't make for a good old fashioned. I found a good one in the cocktail section at my Walmart- Traverse City Whiskey Co premium cocktail cherries
