Here’s a bunch from the last week. Over the years my tastes have gone to almost exclusively Cuban cigars while still smoking aged Anejo’s, opus and some of the pre-release VSG’s I still have, so take my short tasting notes and likes and dislikes with that in mind. Been trying to find a few more cigars to join the lineup just for some greater variety.
Started the night with a 1981 bolivar Lonsdale. I am moved onto a West Tampa maduro. Pretty good cigar it started OK and actually gotten better the further I smoked it to the nub. I was really surprised as it just got better and better and never got bitter. Then I smoked the dark wrapper West Tampa cigar and I thought overall was a little better than the maduro. A solid cigar.
Next night I tried this CAO MX2. Two thumbs down smoked about a quarter of it and tossed it. Next day lit up the West Tampa cigar that’s the lightest of the three and again not my style.
PSD 3 EL 2001
Next was the tabernacle. They have two different versions tried this one first really enjoyed it nice full body spicy cigar going to pick up a few more to stick in the humidor
To finish the night a little Cabanas from 2000
A VSG pre-release from the 50 cabinets. Past their prime but this is one of the best cigars I’ve ever smoked. Nothing like the first released or subsequent years of VSG’s.
Now for the other tabernacle cigar. I really like both of these smokes. I will definitely be purchasing a few for the humidor.
I hope everybody is enjoying their Fourth of July weekend. Cheers to all.
