Today's Smoke 2016

We finally had a non-rainy day yesterday, so I took the opportunity to drive home topless and enjoy a cigar while breaking the speed limit on 81 and 66. I grabbed a cigar that Pete Johnson made for GWAR that I've been sitting on for a long while now. Pretty much a pepper bomb to start, even after resting for so long. This might end up in the yard-gar category. Or is that yard-gwar? The thing burned all sort of wonky, but that could also be due to driving in a convertible. It just shows me that all that Pete touches is not gold.

GWAR, the band?

Haven't listened to them since Scumdogs of the Universe.

Yep. He made an official cigar for them a couple years ago. There is still a shop down by Richmond that sells them.

What did you think of it? I've smoked them, and they weren't bad at all. I found them very reminiscent of old Llaneza /Villazon blends (Punch & Hoyo.)
Agreed, an above average smoke with a woodsy/spicy/chocolate flavor. Great construction, which I appreciate. All resulting in a great bargin/value stick. Will definitely try this one again (but I will definitely give it some humi time before smoking).

I'll have to take your word on the comparison.

Checkride complete, going with either an Opus Petite from 05 or a PSD4 from 13 when I get back to the hotel... If I don't collapse and fall asleep first.

Warped Skyflower from last year's release...I'm liking them more after a year, seems like the flavors have gotten deeper. "Cubanesque" gets thrown around a lot with some of Kyle's cigars, so with that in mind I'd say the Skyflower reminds me of the richness you find in a Partagas, while the Lirio Rojos make me think of the floral RyJ profile.....with Nicaraguan peanuts in both cigars.
