The Worlds Best Hot Dog

When in Dayton, Skyline Coneys. When in LA, Pinks Chili Dog with Sauerkraut!

30 posts in just under an hour about something as mundane as a hot dog. I guess that proves a food forum might be useful.

Doc.

Mundane hot dog??!!

When it comes to hot dogs, if it ain't Kosher, I ain't eating it. I like Nathan's, but they're a little salty, I prefer Hebrew National, they answer to a higher authority then the USDA.

Doc.

I've had a lot of hot dogs in my time..... a lot

And for me it doesn't get much better than Hebrew National. I was first turned on to them at Yankee stadium... then I bought a few from the store and grilled them.

That's a good dog. I like Nathan's too but sometimes the taste is too strong and harsh after a while.

The best dog for me is a smashed up Fenway frank topped off with a packet of Gulldens spicy brown mustard and packet of Heinz rellish thats been thrown to me from about 2 sections over from a wannabee MLB player that all in all the closest he can get is selling concessions at Fenway Park :D

Just got back from the store after reading all this. Picked me up some Hebrews, buns, chili, cheese and a bag of chips for dinner. And I thought all I had to worry about was cigars hanging around here!!
This is so wrong!

I did the exact same thing. But I also got jalapenos

Only one thing really matters:

It must be slow cooked on an open fire. After that, a dill pickle sliver, chili sauce, sliver of sharp cheddar cheese, an d spicy mustard. If it comes out of water you are more than likely in the city and then nothing you can do to it makes it good ;)

Just in case anyone was into quantity of quality Wienerschnitzel is selling 5 chili dogs for $5.

:D

Nathan's, Hebrew National or Pinks if I'n in that part of town. But they have to be cooked right.

Another NY favorite is a Nedick's. They are hard to come by but also worth the heartburn!

Doc you sure you are Italian?

"I'd forgotten my favorite lunch. 2 Hebrew National dogs and a potato knish. Two hot dogs and a knish"

No one likes their pig's in blankets? I certainly do....Ballpark, Sabrett, Hebrew National + spicy mustard.....mmmm....gooooooda :D

Now you're talking Putz... PINKS IS FANTASTIC!

The only downside to PINKS is the 45min-1hour wait to get a dog... that line gets longggggggggggg.

But another good option is City Bakery in Brentwood Country Mart. That City dog is OUT-A-SIGHT.

Post #48 before someone said campfire.
Best for me is cooking at the fire ring in front of my grandparents cottage looking over the lake. With friends and family. Taste great after a long day of fishing, skiing, and tubing. Where are those marshmallows?

Damn, makes ya wonder about all these guys talking about who's wiener they like best.
