The Worlds Best Hot Dog

O.K being a Chicagoan some of these replies are seriously offending me. Go to this link for the best hotdog's in the world. Hot Dougs in Chicago is the encased meats champion! If you come to Chicago and don't stop here you are an idiot! You will deffinately have to wait a long time in line though.

Nathan's or Ball park Franks, add cheese and Mustard lil onion and an Ice Cold Beer ...So cold your teeth tingle

Come on guys.........we all know nothing beats a Dodger Dog!

When it comes to hot dogs, if it ain't Kosher, I ain't eating it. I like Nathan's, but they're a little salty, I prefer Hebrew National, they answer to a higher authority then the USDA.

Doc.

Doc you are sooo right but the Hebrew National foot long 1/4lbs at yankee stadium is the best!

Buck fifty at Costco with a soda...and you don't have to submit yourself to the yankees. :sign:

Mine is pretty simple. Sabrett's hot dog, boiled. Light mustard, topped with lots of onions in sauce. Sprinkle lightly with crushed red pepper.

Edited to add:
A close second is a good Chicago dog. Being from New York, I couldn't understand why anyone would want to put so much junk on a perfectly good dog...until I tried one.

100% agree, Sabretts are the best hands down. Eat plain, eat em' with mustard, do whatever you desire. Unbeatable!!

Anything by Kogels... come on Michigan brothers... back me up on this one!! :D

30 posts in just under an hour about something as mundane as a hot dog. I guess that proves a food forum might be useful.

Doc.

Anyone from Eastern Pennsylvania knows the best hot dog is a Jimmydog from Jimmy's right across the Delaware from Easton. My Dad went to college at Lafayette so every year (when I was young and lived in Bethlehem) when we'd go to my Grandfathers in New Jersey we'd stop by Jimmy's and get a few dogs and sit by the Delaware. Only thing I didn't like was he put pickle spears on the dogs.

Does anyone know if I can get cuban hot dogs shipped to the US?? :sign:

Skyline cheese coney

It's been 4 years since I have had two coneys and a regular 5 way........and a diet Coke to counter the bazillion calories! I hated living in Dayton, OH but boy do I miss Skyline! Needless to say I lost a wee bit of weight when I moved back to Cali.....go figure!

Yes hotdougs FTW. Nothing even comes close.

And to think they were not even mentioned in food networks best HOTDOGS show. Thumbs down to Food Network for not doing their homework.

They did feature Superdawg! SO it isnt a total loss.!

oh cant forget the weiners circle. go there and get berated by the staff but you get a nice char-dog
and cant forget Maxwell style polishes from maxwell street...mmmmmmmm

Living here in the culinary wasteland called NH, I'd forgotten my favorite lunch. 2 Hebrew National dogs and a potato knish. The original fast food. Damn I envy you fuggers in NY. Boston knishes ain't that great.

Doc.

There is a shop walking distance from my place called Mustards. They sell Chicago style dogs from Vienna Beef. My favorite is the works. yellow mustard, relish, pickle spear, two hot peppers and a dusting of seasoning salt. So good!

I'm not picky as far as brands go, just one of the big quality brands, grilled and topped off with excessive amounts of kraut and spicy stone ground mustard.

A real Nathan's from Coney Island! Nothing like them in the world! Dressings optional, but must have spicy brown mustard

Never been to Coney Island before but I have bought a package of Nathan's and they are the most flavorful dog I've ever eaten. Just don't glance at the nutrional info on the package. :gulp:
