The Musical Cheese Pass

I'd have to agree with Jeff on this. This has turned into a major cluster duck!

The cheese mix up, the extraordinary long time laps from launch codes given, the response time to launch codes. Some things could not be helped such as the Wilkey meltdown. I realize that this is a first and therefore some glitches are going to occur but damn, how many and how long can they sit out there?

I point to the Secret Santa Program that is run each and every year or at least site the "organization and execution" that takes place. There are deadlines that are used for holding people accountable. There is a clearly defined expectation and when those expectations are not met the offenders are called to the toe the line except for extenuating circumstances.

Howard has communicated with me and informed me life is happening and he hopes to get it out this week but it should be on the host to follow-up on this as well. Hell, if the host can't do it see if someone else is willing to help things along. No one is ever alone on this.

So, how about for starters a full report or listing of who has and who hasn't received their cheese yet. That will help clear the water and if Wilkey's cheese is the one that Jeff drew than I'll send some treats to him to get this rectified.

It should be noted that my cheese PIF has not been sent but Jeff did communicate well on this one as it would not only rot but then run it's evolutionary course of drying into sand by the time it arrived at it's appointed destination.

Let's get all of this resolved so we can end it and not reach the 1 year mark..............oh wait, there's still la musica!

I received mine, and Napa Smokes drew my cheese, I heard from him last week that it was received.

I sent mine and the receiver didn't get it or won't acknowledge he did. Well to be totally honest I sent the sticks with money and instructions on where he could pickup the cheese locally because I was scared of him getting moldy green stuff.

Well me and Mr. Brickhouse traded blows :D on this deal and everything seemed to workout fine. So I think we are square.
 
I got mine and sent mine and it was received. I have been sick so no chance to try it out yet.
 
At this point it looks like there are three people who haven't received cheese, Putz, Stepthirteen, and myself. I would venture a guess that none of us are feeling sorry for ourselves for missing out on cheese and a couple cigars.

Considering that we all received dozens of PM's during the 10 month course of this pass letting us know that something had been posted in this thread, I find it sad that when it comes time to deliver there is zero communication.

This is sad and I think Jeff needs to come forward and let us know why he has disappeared and who the two (minus Wilkey) remaining culprits are.

Jeff had surgery a week or so ago, hence the inactivity.

Okay, let's give him some more time. The concern for me is that the proposed deadline for shipping cheese is somewhere between months and weeks past.

Just a confirmation that my end was sent out 3 times - spoiled twice while shipping to me, then I finally had it shipped directly to muddstick. He confirmed getting both just fine.

I received Napa_Smokes' end a few backs back and enjoyed the smokes and cheese. Pity that some aren't pulling through with their end.
 
I sent out my end and received a nice package from bfreebern. Thanks to him, I'll be sending for more of that delicious cheese. Bastid!

There are actually 4 but Tasman is playing in the sandbox so a deferment has been issued............
 
First off let me say I'm sorry.

We have 5 BOTLs that have not received their Cheese. If there are more to add to this list, please PM me:

AND these BOTLs appear to have not sent their Cheese as of today:
  1. AngryfishH - he and Putz are working this out
  2. rbbrock/Ginseng - obvious reasons. I'm working out something with Bob*
  3. dk_ace - trying to get hold of him again to get an ETA
  4. Preembargo - he does know of launch and said he's working it out

I couldn't agree more that some of this has become a Fuster Cluck. This is by no means an excuse for myself or anyone involved, I am also keenly aware that life events get in the way and was hesitant to out people and expose them to embarrassment and ridicule. :cool:


I can barely begin to relay to each of you how honored I am by your participation and how much I have learned during this pass. I have learned that this pass was a bit more than ambitious and that I needed to be more clear about my priorities. :blush:


A BOTL has graciously agreed to host the music part of the pass on a website so we can all download it. Should be good to go this weekend at the latest. :thumbs:


Once again I'm sorry and please forgive me, parts of this have not turned out as expected. I can only hope the parts that did work out well have more than made of for the recent sour taste that some may have about this pass. My intentions with this pass are to bring a little distraction to some friends' day, not add to your turmoil. :)
 
Jeff, I hope things are well. Aside from the cheese portion the pass was enjoyable. There is a learning curve involved, which I feel most would acknowledge (shipping cheese ain't so easy). The hiccup came in the change in communication from PM's of "new post in thread, please respond" to the lonely sound of crickets. I am sure any one of us would have gladly stepped up to assist if there was a "life issue".

As for not wanting to bring to the front who is due what and from whom, as the host it is ultimately your responsibility to make sure these things are reconciled. If it means calling folks out to toe the line then that's what you got to do. We would support you brother. It's how the community works.

Live, learn, move on.....
