The 'Filthy Hooligan'....really...??

Guys, these are really decent cigars for the price. This one was literally 40 mins off the UPS truck and it smoked like a champ. I've split a box of these with Gary Roberti (Ironpeddler) for the last few years and have never regretted the purchase. These are round, 6X50, and of course from Alec Bradly. These are the 5th year of these smokes, and the blend has changed a bit over time. This years smokes are pretty darn good. On the strong end of mild, nice mix up with the blended wrapper, a very solid daily smoke. Nubbed the heck out of it. No, it's not like my LE's but for 1/3 to 1/4 of the price, I'd be surprised if anyone didn't think they were a worthy smoke. The rest of these will now get some rest, but not months and months. They are a dandy and fun to share with friends. Absolutely box worthy.

I feel like I may have missed some big developments over the last few years while limiting my buying/board time- is that thing for real? It looks like a candy cane got drunk with a 858 claro and made bad decisions at the xmas party.

Pretty much. I've yet to try one myself but they seem pretty interesting.

My first thought was Asylum Ogre, I hated that thing. I hope the Filthy Hooligan is better. Sounds like it will be.
 
Box split with Gary last year as well. Very Decent NC. Can't say more cause they are all gone and I don't remember the particulars.
 
Make no mistake, these aren't an LE.....but for the price, a solid smoke. Nice change up in the rotation. At least I think so......as they say, one man's opinion....:cool:
 
I have one from 15 I believe. Every time I take it to the bar it ends up getting passed over for something else. Guess I should fix that next time.
 
I haven't smoked the barber pole. I did smoke the original release full candela version (have some left). I was very pleasantly surprised. I may try this new one.
 
I can't remember if I've had one or not. I know Clint had a 5'er from last year and thought they were awful. I think him and a buddy tried to get through a few and just couldn't. I don't think that I've had one.
 
You know, something in my memory says the Hooligan is the Black Market with the different wrapper. I liked the Black Market (reminds me of some cigars from before the boom), but I like the Hooligan more.

....umm.....it's on the cigar isn't it? The secondary band says "black market". So based on the box and bands, I'd say it is literally that. The Black Market with a different wrapper.

Good eye. I haven't pulled mine out for years. Should be interesting to see how they smoke now. I'll try to smoke one tomorrow.

The solid green sticks were not my thing and the barber pole ones were good. Having said that, it's a must try especially on St. Patty's day. To each his own ;)
 
OK guys, I got a second box of these to share with folks, and I have a 5-er or two I could share if anyone wants to take these for a test drive. $38.00 shipped USPS priority. PM if you're interested.
 
I've gone through 3 boxes of these so far, the 2016 blend was a bit better than the 2017 but the 2017 is still really good.
