Why don't you answer PM's?
You Barney are the cause and source of most of the so-called "negativity" around here.

the subject is closed, but if you want to continue to babble do it in the proper thread.

Don't bother with the PM, just remove me from the pass....It's not worth all the drama

Thanks,
Mike

Ah I see, the subject is "closed" because you've decided to not follow through on your promise right or did you actually send it? When did the subject get "closed"? Can ya elaborate on that for me?

Mike sorry to see you go pal, but I cant say that I blame you. Your PTs on the first go round were exemplary and hopefully things will quiet down a bit going forward.

Obviously we are going to have room for a few new people so if anyone else is up for the abuse, please contact me by PM :)

Bill I dont answer your PMs because when i do you post it...you have made a decision to spend all your waking hours trying to bash me wherever there is someone to listen. IMHO you are doing this at everyone's expense, and i feel your efforts to derail the gob are proof of this.

Rod feel free to step in here anytime, k? As far as I am concerned this is not a completed pass and I will do my best to have it be as everlasting as it was intended to be.

After reading this thread, I see we have a bit of a problem. It's obviously necessary for us to update the Rules of a Cigar Pass page, and make them more noticable to all.

One new rule I am adding is: "If you're not a participate of a Pass, you may not post in that thread. "

I always put much thought when creating a new rule, and I feel this rule is necessary and appropriate.

We will be removing the "EDIT" feature on these forums.

Creating a new rule mid-way through the pass is not fair to anyone. By removing the "EDIT" feature will help ensure this doesn't happen.

I am getting really tired of hosting a forum and seeing flame wars go on. If you want to continue with the flame wars, then move on, this forum is not for you. There is a lot of work and money that goes into maintaining this site, so I highly suggest you all think before you post.

This Pass is not being moved to the Completed Pass forum as it has not yet been completed. I suggest we do in fact complete this pass within the next few days. Creating a Pass that never ends is not my idea of a Cigar Pass. I'll take the heat for that since it wasn't in the rules.

I'm trying to make everyone "happy" here, so please cooperate with me. I will ammend the rules this weekend, and will make them more visible to the Cigar Pass forums.

Again, if you're not a participant of this pass or any other pass, please do not post in it. If you want to contact me, please email me from the homepage, do not PM me. I will no longer respond to PM's.

Thank you for your cooperation,

Rod
PS - I HATE DRAMA, so please put an end to it now.

This Pass is not being moved to the Completed Pass forum as it has not yet been completed.

Sorry, I was just joking and forgot to include the :p

Creating a Pass that never ends is not my idea of a Cigar Pass.

Okay here's one for ya (me defending Barney :0 :D ), and I'm not doing this just for the sake of being disagreeable BUT Barney's idea of a "never ending" pass is a novel one and certainlly has its merits and obviously some feel it's a good idea. On the other hand some have also expressed concerns with it as well.

I guess I have a question then, why is the ****EDICION LIMITADA**** pass (does that one never end too, honestly, I'm not sure) with its thousands of posts and hundreds of pages in the "Open Cigar Passes" forum?

We will be removing the "EDIT" feature on these forums.

Ya sure ya wanna do that? It doesn't matter to me but I'd bet quite a few pass hosts would not like that change. For instance, on the first page of many pass threads, you have the LINE UP of pass participants which is subject to change as people are added or drop out. Many pass hosts like to edit that post with the most recent line up and many pass participants like to refer to that post in order to determine where they are in the lineup in relation to who has the pass at the particular moment.

Also many pass hosts like to keep a running count of what cigars are in the pass. They get real fancy using colors for puts/takes/cigars currently in the pass which IMO is a heck of a lot of work BUT many pass participants and hosts like the option to do this which would no longer be available to them if the edit button is removed. Barney's gonna flip on this one :0 but (are y'all ready :D ) I think he does a great job keeping track of the current line up and current sticks in this pass.

Just some ideas...........

Bill does have a point about the edit button. I know if I were hosting a pass, then I'd want to edit the first post so the participants can refer back to it for p/t or the lineup instead of digging through the pages to find them.

I think the new rule is in NO WAY a solution and terrible idea....But hey it's not my board and the door is always open.... :D

Well I'm not feeling great about things, given that I have emailed texasaggie twice and have heard nothing back. Maybe he's just pulling a Phil :p

If they are ever found i'll let you guys decide on what to do with them.

Marcsheldon has graciously offered to help with the replacement of some of the cigars, but given that Rod has stated that he wants the pass to wrap up I'm not sure that will be necessary Marc. I really liked the idea of the gobstopper, and hope that many of you did also. It's really a shame that things had to turn out the way they did, but thats a conversation for a different thread.

As for me, I'm probably going to lay low on CP for a while. I really hadn't posted much anyway except for the gob thread. All the namecalling, flaming, and lack of brotherhood has taken alot of the fun out of it for me. Undoubtedly there will be many of you that will be happy at this decision, but I'd like to think that I will be missed by a couple...anyway, I'm optimistic that things can change for the better.

Oh...CC is gonna get his wine  do i owe anybody else anything?

alright, i did send it to texasaggie (not texasmatt).  and i obviously wrote down the wrong dc#.  i have called my local post office and they are calling the houston post office to track it down for me.    if that fails, then ill take the blame for all this since i wrote down the wrong dc# and cant prove i didnt just smoke them all, but not until we hear from texasaggie and he can confirm that he does not have them, which again, im confident he does.

ill post as soon as i hear from the post office.

Marc, any news on this one? Did you have any luck with the Houston post office?

I tried to track down texasaggie's phone number but could not :( I do remember that he mentioned something about getting real busy with a new job. Who knows, maybe the new job has him traveling for extended periods of time. Still though one way or another someone, somewhere should be collecting his mail. The other possibility is that he moved BUT if he did, the post office would forward his mail.

This does indeed suck Barney  I shouldn't have been so hard on ya about shipping it to texasaggie, sorry about that. The same thing happened to Triple_D, none of us would have guessed that Shuji would pull his disappearing act within a week of receiving Duane's pass. Fortunately, that one worked out so it may for this pass as well.

the post office told me that after extensive research (yeah...thats actually what they said) they cant really do anything without a dc#. i feel bad about this. of all the times to write down the wrong dc#, it had to be the time when the reciever is nowhere to be found. sorry guys....i promise that will be the last time i make that mistake.

Shouldn't you have a little green slip for the dc# or a print out from the computer if you did it online? There were some very valuable smokes in there too. I really hope it gets found. And thanks for trying to help CC, it's much appreciated.

Yea, I always end up with a stub or ticket of some kind no matter how I do it with the number and bar code right on there. I even have a stack of blank right here so I can just put my own on and then they just scan it aand charge me for it when I take it in.

But yea, there should be a stub of some kind.

Yep, you get a paper receipt with the DC# on it no matter how you mail a package (online, at an automated machine, or using a post office clerk).
