The different colors of ash

I completely disagree with Min on this subject. The color of the ash is due to the soil.

Not that I agree with Min or disagree with you...
But a lot of people here said that N/C cigars have a white ash while most Cuban have grey ash... Although I noticed that some N/C have consistently gray ash.
If I'm not mistaken among N/C with grey ash is GR#5 and FCB from Uncle Mikey. I believe that Somebody might add to the list of N/C with grey ash.

How to explain that?

Just for the sake of curiosity.

Yes, I agree with The Master. Regards, knightlaird

I'm really not too sure on the ash, but the cigars I've liked most have burned a gray/brownish color. Also, those have been maduros which I think also has something to do with the color. Or should I not even throw in the maduros issue yet?

I'm not yet convinced of Min Ron NEE's theory as of yet either. It has peaked my curiosity and I may actually put it to the test. I did smoke a NC cigar recently that had a very dark ash, which I found quite curious, but didn't let it get in the way of enjoying that cigar.
