It seems there has been an influx of fine young men and women joining the board as of late. Seeing as how this is Cigar Pass, and everyone seems to be excited in participating, I thought I'd start the next "newbie pass". I hope to show everyone who participates the ins and outs of a pass as well as allow you to get one under your belt so that you may become involved in more ellaborate passes in the future. Read more post less, is a great code to live by, but sometimes you learn more getting your feet wet. I am open for any question, concern, or thought, no matter how silly it seems. You are more than welcome to PM me though I would prefer you post them so that everyone (many who might be wondering the same thing) may see the answer. This is a test of sorts. Screw up here and you won't be very popular. Not to mention I will drive to your house and beat you :laugh: (no, really). Everyone is more than welcome to voice their opinions on the puts and takes though I have the final say. The most important part is to be courteous and fair with everone. Your puts and takes shouldn't be based on getting something for nothing, nor for the benifit of the the person running the pass. Your choices should be based on trying new things and giving back something that you are sure others would like to try. To drive this point home, the pass and all of its contents will be sent to OpFTH upon completion. Often, I think I need to sit down with a cigar to relax and shed my daily stress. My stress pales in comparison with what our guys and gals have to deal with so I would like to share that time with them. I will contact our local rep on CP and let him know that he will be the final recipient of this pass.

So having rambled on here are the rules:

1. When you receive the pass, please do an inventory and make sure everything is there and numbered correctly!
2. Please inspect the box and packaging materials for proper cigar packing and RH%. Either post your concern or contact me directly via PM.
3. Do not remove the cigars from their baggies unless they are part of your approved P/T's.
4. Please post your proposed P&T's in the forum prior to the pass arriving to you. If anyone has an issue with someone else's plays, please be polite about it and post your concerns in the forum.
5. Put & Takes's (P/T's) should be: A) value for value, B) ISOM for ISOM, C) NC for NC, D) Premium for Premium, and E) Rarity for Rarity. I am the judge of rarity. Values of NC cigars will be MSRP (no matter what you paid for it) which shall be referenced on seriouscigars.com. Cuban cigar values shall be judged by me.
6. I will expect information (via PM) on any Cuban cigars placed in this pass. Expect to be asked the vendor and maybe for a pic of boxes and cigars. Don't be offended. It is my duty to protect this pass.
7. Please notify next person in line via a post in this thread prior to shipping to confirm they are ready to recieve the pass.
8. Ship the package via USPS PRIORITY and post the Delivery Confirmation Number (DC#) in the forum. For you newer CP members, use online shipping from USPS.Com - you get free DC#'s!


We'll start with twelve spots and add up to three more if I have enough participants. In order to participate, you must have at least a 50 days on the board and be in good standing (in my eyes and the board's) and have had at least 45 contructive posts as of noon on Feb 12. This isn't a first come first served selection. Again, I'm the judge.

Just a quick reminder. This pass is for those who haven't had the opportunity to join a pass before. I am asking a few other experieced guys to come along so there will be a few more ears and opinions for everyone.

I'm looking for one more pass virgin to sign up. I will finish the cigar list and final pass order this weekend and then it is off on Tuesday. Nobody else wants to try?
 
I didn't realize there were several other newbie passes going on. It would be nice to have another more experienced player in amongst us. You're on!

Smitty with the OpFTH is geared up and ready to recieve when this is all over. I am going to have it come back to me first to I can super-pack the contents for their long journey.

Edit: Very good point as well about the stress. I lately have found myself felling very stressed over some stuff at work, but that really put me back in line. Just thinking about the fact that I get to see family members everyday, and don't have to worry about things like rockets and suicide bombers is very humbling. Thanks to all you Vets and Troops for what you have done for us in the past, and for what you continue to do.

OK, guys. There was a bit of a hiccup this weekend and I didn't get everything in order. I will do so when I return home this evening.
