Cigars come in all flavors, sizes, shapes. What I want to know here (and it's really for selfish reasons...looking to try new smokes and get varied opinions) is the following: Tell me the top ONE or TWO (no more) of the best cigar you've EVER smoked (and what made it so damn good!)and please clarify whether it was an ISOM (for us newbies). I am looking forward to some opinions from seasoned FOGs!

so mine..

ISOM - MonteCristo EL 2003 ed. C - tastes outstanding and burned remarkably well and even.

partagas corona 98 (isom) when the astros won the pennant

the flavor and the celebration was what made it the best

In my VERY limited experiance, I would have to say it's a tie between Partagas Black (rich coffee and chocolate flavor) and Ashton VSG (strength and complexity). I have had an Opus X, a PAN, and three or four ISOMs, but these I enjoyed the most.

Hasn't changed since July when this subject was brought up last. ;)

Since I didn't respond Last April :sign:

I'd have to saw the Fobidden Opus X from the Platinum DVD Set. The rest are all waiting!

Since I've smoked my fair share of ISOM's and Padron's and every thing else in between. My favorite cigar which isnt made any more to my great disappointment is a Don Diego Coronas Major. I forgot I even had it and it sat in my mom's basement unopened for 3 years. I've never seen a cigar burn this great nor have its taste. At least I shared it with a friend who was completely floored at how good it was.

Sure, its an odd ball for a cigar, but at the time I really enjoyed it. But for the runner up, its my own personal blended cigar. I have 3 left and will see how age treats them since the last one I smoked I had to put the stub in my pipe to finish it was that good. :D

....still on the quest for the perfect cigar, but several come to mind:

- Fuente Anejo #48 - spicy, tasty, complex....amazing.
- Padron 64 Annivarsary Maduro "Torpedo" - like smoking a rich desert....awesome.
- Por Larranga Petit Corona - sweet, tasty, just amazing for a small smoke.

These are the top of my list, though as I said, the quest continues....

Cheers - B.B.S.

Best cigar so far? The Rocky Patel Sun Grown Corona I had sitting on my Mom's porch while sipping on a "Ying Ling Lager" on a fine PA Sept day after finally finishing all the renovation work on her Condo I flew over from Germany to do. Mission Accomplished smokes tend to be the best ones, contentment and a feeling of job well done adds to the taste.

Well, I'll break down my choices into non ISOM and ISOM.

Hands down, the Partagas 150 (non-ISOM) was a heady heavenly experience. No puff was harsh or bitter. I burned the tips of my fingers as that puro smoked right down to the nub! Thankfully I found a local Indian reservation humidor that had one of those Ramon y Ramon and Partagas 150 humidors stashed away. Purchased a boat load of those Partagas 150s and now I'm a happy camper watching them ferment and age nicely !

The ISOM I'd say really blew me away was the Vegas Robaina Famoso. Smoked that the night the Indianapolis Colts played the Patriots (on Monday night football) and had my first out of body experience with an ISOM!

Nuff said!
Darren :)

I would have to go with the wonderful anejo shark I smoked....nothing better than that in the world

still searching, but so far, any of the following:

Padron Serie '26
OpusX xXx
Anejo 46
RASS
SLR Serie A
Siglo VI

each is the best for me, depending on the day, my mood, the phase of the moon or the mood of my wife

My current favorite cigar is the PSP2 (ISOM). Single best cigar that I have ever smoked is the Punch Punch (ISOM) from a '01 box. Smoked this cigar at the VIP lounge of the Athens Hilton overlooking the Parthenon at sunset. Location probably had something to do with it, but that particular cigar had perfect construction in every way and had the most pronounced vanilla and cream flavors. Every few puffs, I would get this amazing sweet creamy pop on my palate. I've gone through more than half a box of Punch Punch from the same year to try to recreate the flavors, but have failed. I will always remember and long for that cigar.

Great Question.
Vegas Robaina Isom Gifted to me by my favorite cop in the whole world. Also the only one who talked to me without explaining my rights first.

Torano Exodus Double Corona. I just love these.

I believe mine was a Cohiba Pyramid EL original release. I was just getting into Cubans and it was Heaven.

ISOM Partagas Salamone

Though I really like those VR Famosas
