Taboada

Nice review and subsequent ruminations.

I dug into my '06 Taboada stash about three weeks ago. I was almost scared to do it, as I expected them to be flat and lackluster at this point in their existence. But I just had to know. You likely know what I mean and how I felt. Much to my surprise, they were absolutely stunning. Medium-full bodied and full of flavor. Completely different than others I also had from '06 - from a friend's stash. Those were knock your socks off strong and had less flavor than particle board. That was about one year ago.

But I gotta say.... I'm pretty much done with custom rolls. My heart can't take any more disappointment at that price point. Heck, the anticipation alone is nearly too much for my heart at that price point.

Nice review! I've got a Dom Perignone from 06 gifted to me and am letting it sit as long as I can. I'd love to get my hands on a fresh one though. I'm afraid to call Moises as he might tell me a price and as just mentioned....heart failure.

Maybe a trade is in order?
OK! I have $35 sticks and $40 sticks, what do you have?

Brian

I have $35 and $40 Brian!
LOL, are they HTF?

Brian

Haven't you been reading the news? There is a run on cash

I have $35 sticks and $40 sticks. (...and know were Anthony hides his humidor key!)

One word would describe my experience with Taboada cigars: inconsistent

I've had them be everything from great to garbage.

I guess the reason would be that he does not use the same tobacco every time, you never know what to expect.

My experience is similar, Andrew. While I wouldn't go as far as to call them garbage, I'd gladly call them undesirable given the price point. I don't search out his customs as much as say, a Hamlet, these days.

Taboada is like a box of chocolates... you never know what you're gonna get. ;)
