sweet tea

I just smoked a macanudo hapton court which is given my limited knowledge a pretty good cigar...but anywho I smoked that and also drank a glass of Arizona sweet southern tea. it tasted pretty good to me. has anyone else ever done this before?
You need enlightening, my friend and you've come to the right place.

Doc.

Arizona makes the best damn tea in the world........ second only to mine! :D

You haven't had sweet tea until you've been to a fish camp down south....then you've experienced sweet tea! You fuggin northerners think adding a 1/4 cup of sugar to 2 quarts of tea makes it sweet....not for us Hillbillies! I have to take our Mr. Coffee teamaker (only because the hotel doesn't have a stove and this is the sole reason for us owning one), teabags, and sugar on vacation to Myrtle Beach each year because for some unknown reason, they don't believe in sweet tea there either. Must be all the Yankees that come down to vacation there too.

Actually, my roots(from mom's side of the family) are in Louisiana and besides New Jersey still holds the highest concentrated area of the country for all my relatives. I was raised on catfish, grits, black eyed peas, cornbread, collards and mustards etc. That's my comfort food. So technically, you're the northerner........ damn yankee! :p

Ahh sweet tea. My favorite. Here's my recipe:

boil 12 cups of water containing 2 to 4 bags of luzianne (http://www.luzianne.com/) for about 5 to 10 minutes (you can also use the coffee maker if you'd like)
Pour into 4 quart pitcher
Add 1.5 to 2 cups of sugar (we don't drink our sweet tea real sweet)
Stir until dissolved
Add water to fill pitcher
Chill
Serve cold over ice. Lemon is optional, where I come from, we don't use it.

Now if you want a real treat, make sun tea. I'll leave that as a lesson to the reader. :-)

That recipe is right in line with how my Mom makes it. It has to be sweet cause we use it as syrup on our pancakes the next morning.

Got to have good ole sweet tea! Or as I call it drinkin' tea. I use the Mr. Coffee iced tea maker, the greatest invention since the grill. 1 1/2 cups of sugar and you have drinkin' tea! You gotta chew it up before you swallow it.
