Stout beer vs Strong coffee

Is there a direct correlation between these two? I enjoy a nice stout and I also enjoy strong coffee. Typically I have to double up on the grounds at work, just to make it drinkable.

Didn't know if this was just me, or if this is the norm.

Add a love of spicy foods and hot sauces to the mix for me. Coffee is taken black and strong. With beer, I'm really starting to favor IPA's. Bold flavors all around.

This is how I am also Brandon. The guys at work have to dilute my coffee when I brew it. When it comes to beers, Stouts and Porters are typically the only beers I drink. You'll hardly ever catch me with a "yellow" beer in my hand.

I like strong flavors in general---spicy foods from every culture, ripe cheeses, marinated olives, artisanal meats, rich dark coffee, cask strength bourbons and Scotches, and real beers, be they stouts, bocks or ales.

And butt-kickingly full-bodied cigars.

I'm on board with you. I like big flavors.

Eating spicy food all my life, so strong coffee and a good ale sounds good, i usially don't drink them at the same time but what the hell. :thumbs:

I seem to be the odd one out. I like big flavors in general, in food and beer, but have never really gone for black coffee. It could be I've never had a good coffee. I usually drink stouts, and now that I'm thirsty time to go home and find one.
