Hi all,
I've recently rediscovered this forum and had an interesting question.
I visited this website http://www.metrocigar.com/
Bassically it is a private cigar club with 4,000sq/ft of lounge area, pool table, TV's, private cigar lockers, and a kitchen/dining area. They call themselves the Metropolitan Society. They are structured as a not-for-profit LLC and the membership fees cover the cost of the bills.
I like this concpet of a private cigar club. I live in California and the laws regarding smoking indoors at retail establishments are fairly strict. I love the concept of a small private club paid for by membership fees. Since it is not a retail establishment then smoking indoors and serving drinks or coffee would be ok (members serve themselves, no employees). I have emailed the Metropolitan Society asking some questions regarding their by-laws and legal structure.
Any suggestions ideas for starting a similar club in the Republik of Kalifornia?
or am I just nuts?
