I don't feel comfortable making purchases without knowing other members are going to pay me back, I just know my luck, and it's not that good.

And with the long tenure that you've had at this board I find it so hard to believe that you don't trust us all yet :sign:

Like a couple other folks already said, those that have been around a while know exactly what kind of things wouldn't last two seconds in the BST room. So the point of this thread is to ask those of us that know and have the means to go ahead and pick up those harder to find smokes when they see good deals, because there's plenty of us out there that don't have local shops that carry them, or don't have local shops at all, and we're always looking for certain cigars.

2 members have PM'd me for 5ers. That leaves 9 available. If I get PM's for the other 9 I then will get the box discount. (not sure how much exactly of a discount ) which will bring everyones price down once adjusted for the discount. As to the leather humidor it comes in, I guess a raffle would be the best way to go.

Update***This IS DONE***
I have 3 members requesting a 5er each (smellysell,kahari,keystone-rider). That leaves a 4er (jlada)( box was missing 1 ) I spoke to my B&M and he will give a 20% box discount. So here is the math.
19 X $27.85 = $529.15 - %20 = $423.32/19 = $22.28 adjusted price +tax.EA

He has put this box to the side so once I get the last 4er spoken for I will pick up and ship USPS @ $4.60

I will hold a raffle to determine who "wins" the leather humidor these come in.

But yes, check it out everyone, because someone saw a box of semi-hard-to-find smokes and spoke up, several members just got hooked up with cigars they've wanted, and someone's local B&M just got some business they otherwise might not have had. :thumbs:

Sorry for the confusion. Jeff took the remaining 4.

I will pick up the box tomorrow and ship Thursday.

Payment_ I would prefer PP but will take check, mo. I will send out total cost Wed night.

My thoughts on the raffle are as follows. Each buyer gets a # assigned in order of their response to this buy.

smellysell #1, khari #2, keystone rider #3, and jlada #4.

Into the hat will go 5-#1, 5-#2,5-#3, and 4 #4 tickets for a total of 19 tickets. My daughter will pick 1 ticket and the # she pulls will get the humidor. I will post photo verification of the lottery winner.

Sounds good to me. I personally don't need photo verification, and you can either have a number too, or have my number for putting this together, whichever everyone else would rather do. Thanks again Lou.
 
Okay...running a day late but here we go.

I picked up the cigars today. Here is the break out.

with 20% discount cigars came to $22.32 + $1.56 Tax = $23.88 EA

5ers come to $119.40 + $4.60 = $124.00 (Keystone, khari, smellysell)
4er came to $ 95.53 + $4.60 = $100.12 (jlada ) What say we just call it $100 even Jeff :D

Just so we're clear on this: If you are ever at a shop and see cigars that are hard to find at good prices, buy as many as your credit card will allow, if you don't want them all then it will take you all of 5 minutes in the Buy/sell/trade forum to unload them. As far as I'm concerned, this includes cigars such as Fuente goodies i.e. Anejos and Opus. Or perhaps you run across some Padron 40th or 80ths at or below msrp, buy em! (then pm me...)

What other cigars should be added to the list, or do others here have strong opinions why this is a bad idea? I understand that not everyone perhaps has the cash floating in their wallets to just buy hundred of dollars worth of cigars assuming they can sell the ones they don't want here, but for certain sticks it's not an assumption but a known fact!

Some of us have too much time on our hands, or are some kind of ubergeeks, and we actually know by heart what the msrp is on alot of HTF sticks. Many of you may not, and I would not like to be the responsible party for this entire idea when you think you've found a deal and then find out it really wasn't, and now you're stuck with these cigars. Also, some folks may not be in a financial position to be able to just dole out a few hundred dollars on cigars, then post a thread and hope that others buy them and you get your money back. I do not want anyone to feel obligated to buy cigars, or feel like they are less of a botl because they simply can't afford at the moment to dish out cash like this.

With the holiday 'cigar' season upon us, this might be a good reminder about what to do when you see those HTF cigars in a shop! :thumbs:

Oh yea, what ever did happen with the Stanford travel humidor? ???
 
10 count box of Padron A's at the my local hangout. If anyone is interested, PM me and I'll put you in touch with them. I think they are $35 per stick.
 
If I have the cash I usually pick up as many Anejos and list them here. I myself don't really care for them but I can usually walk out without a limit. I usually keep a couple just to gift. I will let you all know if I can score some this season.
