Only among true brothers can this happen. Long story, but worth it!..........I think
When I got the pass I saw a small zip-lok bag with a cigar, a glass bottle, and a note.
@cabaiguan juan Jon started a very cool gesture by placing the bag, note, and contents in so each participant could send a little something to the next guy in line!
I held up the little bottle of clear liquid and I shook it, it had the characteristic look of moonshine so I opened it and took a whif. Since there was no note from anyone else, I PM'd Jon and asked if he had put "moonshine" in the pass. I also informed him that I would take it, but I have a pretty good resource for moonshine and I would leave it in the pass. He quickly informed me that it was Mescal and said "maybe Mescal smells like Mexican moonshine?"
I informed Jon that Mescal is Mexican Monkey Piss so he suggested that we trade some Mescal for some moonshine. I reached out to the friend who distills it in his old barn, and I told Jon it would a be a few weeks until I see the gentleman who makes the moonshine but I would send it when I get it.
Last night,
@jbfurdog Brian PM'd me and informed me that he put the moonshine (straight from Kentucky) in for me.
So, in chronological order:
- Jon starts a very cool gesture, which could become a tradition. (maybe a cigar/moonshine pass?)
- Brian somehow gleaned from my posts that I may have a bit of ridge runner in me and sends me a snort of moonshine.
- I accuse Jon of putting moonshine in the pass.
- Jon accurately accuses me of not knowing the difference between good Mescal (like there is such a thing) and moonshine.
- Jon and I agree to educate each other.
- Brian informs me that it was him who put the moonshine in ............... for me!
- @Tall Paul Paul is getting something that isn't quite as good as good moonshine but, hopefully he will enjoy!
