I'm having surgery tomorrow- getting my wisdom teeth removed and my upper jaw moved forward, I can smoke tonight, then I can't again until January after I'm 100% fully recovered... Going to have a fantastic steak at the nicest steak house I have access to, then have my best cigar.

I spent $68 on cigars last night, not realizing just how long my recovery would be lol. Thanks for the support.

Best of luck, you'll have time to research and load up that humidor for 2012.

Sweet Jesus man, snap out of it, did you even read what you wrote........
John Wayne got shot in the jaw and still smoked a cigar. Now take off those
Ralph Lauren silk underwear, put on a pair of chaps and get with it man....

You make me want to pull out my own teeth with this silly doctors shit......

Wish you well.......

John Wayne was a fuggin' draft dodger. You can look it up.

Doc.

Good luck, man. I had three removed many beers ago, and it went well until about 4 days after, when the percocet decided it didn't like me anymore. One thing I can tell you from watching my wife go through it, as well, is they aren't fookin' around with the "fully recovered" thing. Dry socket is a bitch. My wife smokes, and of course didn't wait long enough, and as a result suffered recurring dry socket. Wasn't a fun time for me being around her. I'm sure it sucked for her, too...

Or, like the others said, suck it up and light it up. John Wayne did it (in Old Mexico?), Chuck Norris did it, and I'm sure Jack Nicholson did it between coke binges.

Good luck, and enjoy. If nothing else, your new sticks will have a few good months on them by the time you can get to smoke them.

Just think how good the smokes you just bought will be in 6 months when you are able to smoke again... Just trying to look at the bright side.

Hope all goes well with the surgery and recovery, I would listen to the doc dry socket is not a fun thing to have. Remember you don't have to have a cigar in your mouth to read all the good stuff on CP.

it's not just the risk of a dry socket, caused by sucking on a cigar or cigarette, it's that nicotine inhibits healing and will lead to a longer recovery time.

Doc.

Damn your poor mouth lol

Hope it goes well and you heal as fast as Wolverine so you can keep smokin!

Good luck!

After watching that video, I understand now what you are going to go through. Best of luck to you, if you are opting for that, smoking will just have to take a back seat for now.

If I had had that done in my youth, it wouldn't have lasted long. A good crack to the face would have sent me back to the body shop

but hey, at least I have a custom nose.

Oh, hell... I completely missed that whole "upper jaw" thing and mentally stopped comprehending at wisdom teeth. Yoiks. Yeah, good luck with that one. Definitely follow the doc's orders on recovery time.

Had my wisdom teeth out this year and had a 6 week recovery before the hole were allclosed up. I have never heard of the moving the jaw thing and after that video I am more than happy that i had not had to have that done. Good luck my friend and wish you a speedy recovery.

When I woke up from my surgery on Wednesday the bands on my braces were so tight I couldn't open my braces more than a sixteenth of an inch...that was fun. The first two days of recovery were pure hell, no fun at all. The next few days weren't bad at all. I didn't take any painkillers yesterday (4:43 am right now) and honestly the only bad part would be my right nostril bleeds a tiny bit from the breathing tube I had in, I can't open my mouth fully due to my bands(got looser ones the day after my surgery, luckily) and I can't eat solid foods yet, although I can have soup and macaroni and cheese and stuff, not that terrible boost crap I had to drink the first few days. One-two days before my surgery when I was talking to my nurse she said I'd have to wait until I was fully recovery to smoke again, so January. I'm hoping I won't have to wait that long.

Godspeed on your recovery. Since you can't smoke them, it's not a bad time to start collecting them. Think of it as having 6 months to collect some very choice sticks that you can enjoy once recovered  Take care.
