As soon as you start talking NFA....wow. Now, that's a slope.....
I'm two weeks out from a four month paper-work wait.

Haven't got that far yet....still trying to figure out who to buy it from, now that I know exactly what I want.Either is relatively easy for this area.
I went trust. Tom?

I've been trying to keep myself from getting a 1911 and/or a AR15. I dont "need" either one but you know that slope...that slope....
Last 30 days have brought me a S & W Model 629 Stainless .44 Mag with a 6 1/2 bbl, a Glock Gen 4 model 23 .40 cal and a Ruger Mk II Hawkeye .300 Win Mag. Now I have been waking up in the middle of the night thinking about the Kimber .45 in the display case at the local gun shop. I handled all of the semi-autos that they have and the Kimber was truly made for me.

Honestly a great time to get an AR right now. The "ban" hysteria has subside and major manufacturers have some awesome rifles for prices that seemed impossible 2 years ago. Many smaller companies are producing high quality rifles at rock bottom prices. Depending on what you want out of it, a rifle could easily be built in the sub $700 range or less.

I bought the two kimbers above over the last two weeks and love them.. I also bought a Colt 1911 Rail Gun, as Well as a Springfield loaded. (Thanks Jake!!) My favorite is the two Kimbers though. Dont worry about all the internet hatred of them. They are amazing guns. You cant go wrong with any of the models. They also hold their value incredibly well. What model are you looking at?

It is the full sized longer barrel, higher capacity custom shop model. I do not recall the model initials. Walnut grips, silver slide assembly and black body (if that helps). It was purchased new by an employee and he never even fired a single round out of it. $1,099 plus sales tax sounds like a great price. It is a lot of money which is why I didn't buy it on the spot. I never read any internet hatred of Kimbers, but I have talked a few current owners and they love them. If I did buy it, it is too nice for a daily carry. I wanted to buy a .45 Glock, but with the staggered magazine, the grips are too fat to feel comfortable in my hand.

I have been looking at adding an AR to the collection as well.. Any advice would be appreciated. The RIAs seem nice. Anything else I should look at? I feel pretty confident about my pistol knowledge but dont know even where to start with ARs..
