these are the same cigars from the ebay listing found above. could not have expected them to be what they turned out to be! really was a gamble just to see what was in the tin. ended up as a once in a lifetime find!

smoked the first of these little old beauties today! all i can say in short is ........ OMG! WOW! super rich in cocoa/cream. very mild, but has similar profile to the 70s Monte Dunhill Selection #2. not as thick and strong, but similar. like the best steak you've ever eaten ... hard to really describe it in words that give it justice.

That is just flat out amazing. Congratulations on the spectacular find, and to get them at that price, knowing now what was inside...you gotta feel like you stole them! Thanks for the short review. Totally tangental to the issues being discussed, but I thought I should note that:

#2 doesn't matter, you own the copyright to a picture whenever you take it... putting the © next to it is nice and all, but for all intents and purposes, doesn't matter unless you actually go to the step of registering the copyrighted material with the library of congress.

#3 is a common misunderstanding, it makes no difference whatever whether you are making money or not from copyrighted works. You own the right to copy said work, whether you make money from it, or whether others make money from it is irrelevant.

I agree with Bill; you posted a link to a web board. Vortex re-posted the link to another web board. Linking to content has been upheld as fair use; i don't see what the issue is here.

I think it's pretty clear that Vortex just thought it was a cool set of pictures he wanted others to see. This happens to me all the time, I don't care who links to pictures I've taken, that's what they are there for. I insist on permission to use the pictures for anything, but linking to the pictures is perfectly acceptable.

Had he appropriated the pictures and represented them as being his, then I'd understand but... I guess I don't understand the outrage here.

Anyway, congrats on the old cigar, Hollywood, I hope they smoke well.

Aside from what else has been said all I can say is Wow!!! I think it is truely amazing that you only paid $50 for the can and they actually smoke well. Just as being a colectors item they the tin has to be worth more than that alone.

It looks like we have finally moved on to what this was really all about - cigars. Thanks, hollywood, for providing us with this opportunity and sharing it with the greater cigar loving world. I'm also glad they turned out to be good smokes as that was the payoff to your gamble in opening them. I hope there are no hard feelings between us and that you will become a regular poster here. Please keep us informed of where this leads such as an interview on CI or CA or one of those Cs... :laugh:

A statement about the Brotherhood of the Leaf and it's amazing power to bring people together over a common interest - cigars. ;) No, it's not about saving humanity from itself or creating a viable economy or even about how great we are. But that's the beauty of it. That's part of why we don't discuss politics here. It's about the cigars.
