What in the world are you talking about? I said thank you, more than a few times on the previous page.
It's probably because most of the time the answer would have been search is your friend.
Some of you are acting like you are going out of your way, to explain something to a beginner... yet you seem to have lots of time and energy to create drama. I'm wondering if a good portion of you are simply looking for your egos stroked.
Nothing to do with stroked EGO IMO. People around here give a lot of importance to how things work on and in the community. Lest say it's the culture. Comming in here and starting a thread without an intro or a filled out profile is somewhat frowned upon by most. Now a good drama is always fun no ? 
If this forum isn't to help out people new to cigars, looking for some information, then perhaps you should change the name, or change the criteria for people to join - maybe something like "VIP club" or so forth, and "beginners stay out!".
This place is more than a forum ist's a community where half of the fun goes on behind the curtain. The people here welcome anyone who's willing to be part of the communitywich is kind of the only criteria you'll find (and each community has rules no?)
You know, some of you come off as VERY arrogant... since some of you are so sure of yourselves, allow me to respond in like manner -
Well I would say entitiled and not arrogant, but hey your choice of words my friend....
Decide for yourselves if you don't want beginners here or not. If you are going to be snooty/snotty to them, then don't play games about it, just post something so that new people won't dare to ask questions.
I would say it's already decided they want begginners in here (I like the perfect example). The reason for the reaction you are receiving is simple you came in and did what you would have done in any other forum, posted directly a topic without taking the time to get around the place and looking out for the advices-do and dont's.
If you DO actually welcome beginners, then why not explain some basic concepts to help them, instead of asking them to "search the site", and/or pouring all kinds of over-complicated information on their heads. As a beginner, all I needed to hear was that it's common for people to think of the wooden boxes as the right way to store cigars, but they have some flaws. Here are a few reasons why...... this is why we suggest tupperware containers.
Well I dont want to be a jerk here but I knew nothing about ciagrs when I came here, I read a lot then reread stuff to be sure I got it right. I bought wooden humidors for my stcks and did everything that was written to the letter, now everything works greaet, I understand why (except why didn'T I bought a coolidor instead but hey thats an other story).
Would this be THAT hard? ????
It's not about it being to hard, once agin it's about the way thing work arounf here. do you have a idea how much the same questions would pop every week if there were not this kind of 'search before asking the question' thing? a lot of repetition and when you would go to serach for something you would get 30 threads of the same stuff ...not very healpfull no?
And yeah, I could have probably learned this stuff by using Google. Heck, you could probably learn to pilot a shuttle to the moon, if you searched long enough... but that is why people come to forums - for the help and advice of those who have experience.
Well it does not work that way here. The guys can be way more than helpful believe me! Giving informationo is one thing but helpful is an other and since I've been here (wich is not that long) I cannot believe this place is such an awesome place.
Now I am a new member. Difference between my arrival and yours is simple: I got around,read a lot, posted an intro and filled my profil before starting to post everywhere because here the golden rule is read more post less (wich make sense in a way) and let yourself be know by the community.
I think/know you would have been welcomed way differently on other cigar forums (as in not friendly at all to say the least).
I have 1/2lb bags laying all over too, it might be more than 5-6lbs :laugh:
(I calibrate the hygrometers every month, I find it odd I haven't used distilled water in over a year, but nice!!!)
