First two episodes just dropped on Amazon, and damn!

Off to a killer start. If you haven't been watching, start with Season 1 and catch up. It's seriously like a blockbuster, high budget sci fi film in TV episode format. Acting, storylines, concept, sets, special effects are all just amazeballs.

Never heard of it. I'll check it out. I have prime, so what the hell. I have plenty of cigars, beer, and nosh. :D

It's actually airing on SyFy, Monk, but to catch Season 1 and what you've missed of Season 2 you'll have to go to Amazon. $2 an episode. Absolutely worth it.

I never hooked cable up when I bought this house; I watch DVDs on the big surround sound testosterovision in the living room but mostly, with my Harmon Kardon subwoofer setup and Boom 2 app installed on my iMac, I just watch stuff on my computer. No commercials; watch whenever I want to, and it's all in my smoking lounge.

Didn't know they put Season 1 on Prime! Awesome.

Have Prime and love it. The two-day shipping alone paid for the whole year during the one-month free trial, and "Man in the High Castle" is one of my favorite shows.

It's a little slow to unfold, and a little too complex for binge-watching purposes, but it's absolutely spectacular. Alt-history (we lost WWII) with a really nice dieselpunk look and really compelling subplots everywhere.

End of season two stripped my gears.

In a good way

Haven't watched season 2 of a "man in the high castle" yet but 1st season was stellar.

Expanse is also a really great show. I recently bought the 1st 3 books and am about 50% of the way through book 2. If anyone wants to read book one send me a PM and it's yours provided you send it back when you're done

I cue that one up just as soon as I finish up with the Hunted on Cinamax.

I'm seriously impressed with it so far. Strangely, it sort of ends and begins. I know it's based on a novel series. I wonder if where it ended midway through S2 was in fact the ending of the first novel? It's very intriguing. I barely had time to recover from the massive "conclusion" before the races were on again. Pretty excellent. Looking forward to your opinions on it Michael!

Started watching The Expanse, the other night, but was uber tired and started dozing off.

Might get to retry it tonight...so far looks pretty good, just wish they didn't toss in all the other world words, I'm struggling to put them into context.

Hoping it works out! I really liked the whole idea of the expanse. The writer talked a lot about how we're missing a lot of the future of space travel in our sci-fi books, and how he was looking to change that. His point was, the next logical step (which is already in progress in real life by SpaceX) is mining asteroids for platinum. There are actually a lot of asteroids in the space just between us and Mars.

The Expanse is trying to envision that world, pushed out a tad further. So we've mastered travelling to Mars and back, started to (or are attempting to) colonize it and hopefully change the atmosphere to be more like Earth, and then you've got the miners on the asteroids (called "belters") who are pretty much footing the bill with manual labor. You end up with a very Dune-like political structure. Earth has their UN. Mars has their "president" or whatever. And the Belters all have their unions (factions) that may occasionally unite under a common cause.

All of the space travel is pretty close to home. No light-speed drives or anything like that. Just good old Earth, Mars, and a bunch of Asteroids.
