Shutting down his PP account would just be a minor inconvenience. He's start another one, without the known scumbag email address associated with it.

File a police report, and then gather up any other information you can and send it to his ISP, as well as his local police station. That's at least a start.

I talked to a supervisor at PP and they've put his account on hold for now. She said they actually have a dept that actually works with the FBI on these type cases and would physically walk over and hand the file to them now. I gave them all the information I have on the scumbag.

So, have you actually gotten the sticks yet or you just noticed the email after you paid? I believe you can "file a claim" with paypal and put that the item is "Not as described". You may have a decent chance of getting your money back through PP if you go about it this way.

Transaction done 10/10, claim filed 10/11. From what I was just told by PP, the funds are on hold until resolved, meaning I have to receive the items as described or else get my money back. So, I'm sure I'll get my money back. I just hope anyone else that sent funds to the scumbag can do the same.

First thanks for the heads up...sometimes the only way to spread the word is to call people out. Second, sorry to hear about that. I was going to suggest getting in touch with the Post Office, but then realized it never got in the mix. I was involved in a ebay scam several years ago that spanned across 6 states and totaled over 20k. I personally lost $600. The post office caught the guy, he is in jail, and I have received $13.57 in restitution. Sorry to hear this has happened to you, hopefully PP comes through with what they call safe online payments.

...and that, my friend, is what the brotherhood of CP is all about.
Off and on over the last year, there's been a lot of angst dealt towards some of the long term members over the way some events have been handled. Never forget that keeping things on the level and honest is a very high priority. CP isn't all about trading and selling, but when it happens here with a long term member, you're likely as safe as can be. And, when things go wrong, they get handled one way or another.
I still think the most honest and decent guys in the world hang out.....right here. It's what keeps me coming back.

I'm getting responses from the guy now, he's pissed because I filed a dispute against him with PP and his account is now frozen.
He also stated that Ed (Spivy) was the one that screwed him out of $3,500.I've asked him to please elaborate.

Ahh it sounded like maybe you had dealt with him before things went south with spivron. I was gonna ask if he at least delivered on the previous deals (other than the spivron deal obv.) but seems like a moot point. I defnitely wouldnt trust a word out of his mouth. To be fair, he hasn't been screwed yet(at least on this deal), the guy never got the chance, which is the safe move. Now it's just a matter of finding a way to shut smokinj out for good.

With an outstanding warrant, it shouldn't be too difficult to shut him down for a bit...right?
If he has an out of state warrant, he can be extradited, if the state that has the warrant out for him so chooses to do so. It's all a matter of a police agency picking him up on the warrant. I'd try calling the PD in whatever city he lives out of and advising them about him. Jon is more knowledgeable about this kind of stuff than I am though, so hopefully he will chime in here.

I'm fairly confident I'm not going to be out my funds, and even if I were it would be a very small price to pay if it helped get this guy stopped. I'm hoping things have been put in motion to get him behind bars for a while, not sure though. As Andrew said, he'll probably come back under a different name and sucker more unsuspecting souls. He's signed off OH, and I don't expect he'll be back again under the current name.
