Saturday Special @ Cigar Warehouse Houston

I find it very interesting that I have to decline a certificate in Firefox every time I view this thread.

That's just because the image he's using is hosted on an SSL/HTTPS site (his own). Nothing wrong with the certificate.

Good luck getting even the first person to sign up.

We have several new signups currently taking advantage of the program. We are always open minded to suggestions. I have partners and we make all decisions as a group.

I just posted here to give people another option. Not trying to do anything wrong or upset anyone. Just wanted to get our option out there. We are fair and honest people.

What is your shipping policy I could not find anything ont the site.

How much is shipping? If the stuff comes damaged do you replace it for free/ give store creditr/ refund. etc? What carrier do you use and how fast is the shipping? What everotherinfo you feel like volunteering

If you were viewing member prices on our web page you might find the box you want. Everything on the member side is priced 30 to 50% off MSRP. But like I said before, to each his own.
Unfortunately, no one can see the member prices or depth of stock until they sign up. Personally, I wouldn't join unless I could see for myself what I was getting for my membership fee. Only then could I determine if it would be worth it for me, or not. My guess is that others feel the same way.

Regards - B.B.S.

Are the boxes and prices I see while browsing the site as a non-member the same as what I'll see as a member? Are there more options on the member side? Better prices than what's shown on the non-member side? What's the deal?

OK Guys, just a little info to clear things up, I PM'd Randy Byers of this site and asked if I could "look around" for all the guys here. He had not problem with that and so here are the results... (Mind you all the comments below are MY opinon based upon what I saw).

It appears that what you see as far as stock goes is what is available to the members at discounted prices. All in all the prices on the "inside" are pretty decent.

e.g (If Randy objects I will remove this potion of the post)
601 Green label Robustos are $100 a box, the Blacks & Reds (same vitola) are $82
DP 1977 Petite Lancero $66
DP El Cent. Gladiadores $169
DP JJ Maddie Robustos $135
DP JJ Salmone $60
Tatuaje Tainos $200

You guys know what these go for and this is a decent represenation of the pricing. The "special of the day" seems to be halfway decent as well, its $20 off the regular price.

The site states that the bill can be reoccuring or one time, if its reoccuring you have to cancel before the next billing cycle to avoid getting charged again.

As far as shipping goes it seems that a single box is around $5-7 for one box and each additional box is about $2-3 more.

After "browsing" this site, I would have to give it a "thumbs up" initially, but as we all know the devil is in the details, especially packaging and customer service for returns and such. The biggest down fall that I can see is selection. I found a few boxes that I probably would buy, but after that, I would be disinterested.

So basically if you spent $200 on a membership, you would have to buy approx 6-7 boxes during that year to break even on your investment, anything after that you would be saving money. So being said that. It could be a good deal for some people.

I once managed a retail shop and we'd heavily promote gift certificates for the holidays. We would only get about 70% of those gift certificates returned for merchandise - the other 30% was pure profit. The membership dues for Cigar Warehouse are the same scenerio - chances are a fair percentage will never recoup the cost of membership in their purchases, making the "dues" pure profit for Cigar Warehouse. Their primary motivation is not to sell you cigars, they're here to sell memberships.

Kurk. Good to see you are still around, and thank you, memberships are always about the money never the service.

I will respectfuly agree to disagree. I love dealing with cigars and cigar people.

Can I get some more details on this part. What carrier is used for shipping ? What is the policy for returns ? ETC

Thanks

We use USPS Priority Mail. It's usually 2 days sometimes three. We pack everything well to minimize any possible damage. We insure shipments so yes, we will replace anything destroyed by carrier. The typical shipping charge is around 8.95 for the first box. Packages are insured and signiture required. So far we have had very good service from the Priority Mail.

And what happens if I pay a year membership and you decide to close shop? or i don't want to buy a box every month? what then? Interesting model as others have pointed out, and your pricing seems very good, but I'll pay the extra and get exactly what I want, when I want.
Rob

Well.. You could always pay it a month at a time whenever you wanted. Nothing says you have to pay a year. But hey, I respect your opinion.

if i payed it only on the months that i purchased cigars, would the diffrence in price add up to more than the price of a box? I think one would only see minimal savings at best if they purchased 2 boxes at a time. I checked out your inventory and it seems all the good stuff is out of stock

"I checked out your inventory and it seems all the good stuff is out of stock"

That comment, I will say, is subjective at best.

We have many good items available in stock. Of course, that staement is subjective to my taste as well. :)
