Rojas cigar specialist vol 1

Today we have the bunch with the binder only

View attachment 40212

aroma on the foot: very light cedar

pre light draw: light cedar and flowery nuances

Once lit. Starts off with light grass, cereal grains and walnuts light white pepper on retro.
So far reminds me of the Condega primings and if I had to compare this to his regular production cigars it comes closest to the Blue Bonnet

in the second 3rd now. Now much evolution in terms of flavor. Perhaps a bit of pepper in present in the profile now Still feel it’s a Condega but perhaps they added a ligero leaf into it

last 3rd more of the same.

Interesting. How was the draw on that? It looks like it would be difficult to both draw and keep a steady, consistent burn.

The cigar did not have a cap so I did not have to cut it. Both draw and burn were just fine.

That's awesome! As a newbie I'm still learning alot, what exactly is this and are you doing it for yourself or for some sort of certification? Sorry if that's worded poorly

So Lake Worth cigars in texas has this set made by Noel Rojas. ITs called the Cigar Specialist Vol 1. There is a link to it somewhere in this thread, but you can find it also by googling lake worth cigars.

Check out this thread from the beginning.

Dan, I am going to start mine today… Any tips or thoughts, since you have been through this already?

You are in for a. Interesting journey. I think the only suggestion I have is that if you are going to smoke multiple primings of the same region in I one day start with milder and work your way up. If I remember correctly it’s secco - viso- ligero.

Ok Dan I purposely did not go back and read your notes, so my notes would not be influenced by yours. So here you go

Jalapa Viso- Foot tea, floral(honeysuckle?) Dry draw floral, sour Tasting notes floral, white tea, cream, white pepper, cloves dry smoke a little tannins

Conega Viso- Foot citrus Tasting notes chocolate, red pepper, cayenne, peanuts

Esteli Viso-Foot musty Tasting notes earth, hickory, black pepper, earth more tannins that the Jalapa

Now I am going to go back and read your notes and see if we pulled some of the same notes on these…

Are you smoking all three back to back on same day?

I smoked all 3 back to back to back like I was part of the 90’s Bulls… I did take about 5-10 minutes in between each smoke ate some crackers and drank some water to reset the palate.

Esteli Seco followed by Esteli Ligero

Both good the Ligero a lot more spice, super white ash and tons of smoke!

Are any of you still doing this? I haven't heard much about it recently.
