The big new name on the ballot is Metallica. Returnees include Chic, the Stooges and Run D.M.C. Other nominees are Jeff Beck, Wanda Jackson, War, Little Anthony & the Imperials and Bobby Womack. The Hall says five of the nine will be inducted.

Which five would you vote for?

Easy. Jeff Beck without any hesitation. This guitar god cannot be in the Hall of Fame too many times (Yardbirds, and now solo).

After that Metallica, The Stooges, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Bobby Womack.

Uh, what about Genesis?

Metallica has done their share to hinder the progression of music. I guess if people want to award that, that's cool.

Jeff Beck, Run DMC, Stooges, Little Anthony and Metallica (but only if they promise not to whine about anything when they accept the honor).

....Lars won't whine, but he'll insist that all TIVO's and DVR's be scrambled so there's no "file sharing" going on..... :whistling:

Topping my list would be:

1. War ... Great songs most people know, but couldn't name the band playing them.
2. Metallica .... Yes I agree they whine too much in the last decade, but in the 80's they kept hard rock afloat
from the glam rock taint until Nirvana came along and nuked hair bands off the map.
3. Jeff Beck ...One of the best Gutiar players ever.
4. Run DMC .... Exposed rock to a completely diffferent audience, and did more for rock than anyone
in "spandex"
5. Wanda Jackson .... A woman way ahead of her time.
