It was a different deal Brandon.

Ok, I see that now. It still doesn't do any good calling them a scumbag without trying to resolve the issue with the vendor. Not directed at you Justin.

I wouldn't go as far as calling them a scumbag personally, but the fact that they lied to me by saying "we don't backorder email specials", when apparently that isn't the case, is reason enough for me to take my business elsewhere. YMMV

Got an email from Regency stating that they only backorder Email Specials that are in transit or expected to arrive shortly.

Just to add my experience about ordering from them.

I had ordered 2 boxes of cigars from their site when this thread started, both ended up being backordered. Now the website did not say they were backordered, but that was not the real issue. One of the boxes came in a few days later and they shipped it out with the expected discount.

The second box was still backordered. I called last week and they said it should be in with the next [vendor] shipment. No word from Regency since. I called today about another week later and not only had the box not come in, but they had no idea when the box would be in. Not even a rough guess.

I have worked in retail and backordering an item without telling the consumer is a bad thing. Not malicious, but not good practice either. Not communicating to the customer that the item was not in the expected shipment is a bit worse. But, having the customer call you to ask the status because it fell into the void and having the only answer be "we are in the [vendor] rotation and we don't know when it might show up" is inexcusable.

When they have the item in stock things seem to be fine. Be wary if the item is not in stock when you order because you can't tell online and you may not get any notification if/when the item may become available.
