Good question for all of you experts though, how long can I expect this thing to stay good? I'm assuming if I store it properly before opening it, then I should be good for a little while? I'm guessing once it's tapped I better finish it off quickly?

The beer should last for years being a 10% brew but the hops fade pretty fast and most people say drink it sooner rather than later. Once opened you should drink it right away...it may stay carbonated for one day after but those mini-kegs aren't made to keep carbonation once it's opened. I had a mini-keg of Paulaner Oktoberfest that I drank over the course of a week and by about the 3rd day it was pretty flat.

By May, my guess would be yes, the hop profile would have changed by that time. But I'm not a hophead, so I don't really know.

Keep it in the fridge and it should still be good but it won't be like fresh Hopslam. Depending on the beer hops can fade as quickly as 2 weeks and sometimes they last for months. It will still be very hoppy though and some people even prefer to age it so the malt balances the hop flavors out a bit.

I'd get some friends together and make a night of it. I finally tracked down a six yesterday at my favorite out of the way store.
