Question on storing cigars in cooler temperatures

Wow! How much are you on the road? I used to be a road warrior, but my 5-stick Xikar was fine for my business trips, I'd rarely smoke more than 2 cigars on the typical trip, if that.

Love the Photo of the guy with the huge backpack. :D
the entire kit, as a whole, has never left the basement, I am just a gear junkie, and I like to have places for my things.
I do travel with the small bag; it holds the 3 or 5 finger case and pac very well with room for a few drinks of choice

Tim, you remind me of my brother and I. He was always worse than me but we both loved gadgets and gizmos.😛

You also have guns you've never shot, don't you?

No safe queens. Shoot them all.

Do you have cigars you won’t smoke?

Back to storing cigars in cooler temperatures, I picked up a couple of pre-owned Remington / Reagan cooling humidors to deal with the south Florida temperatures and would like to get them calibrated. Right now they are cooling to temps in the 40's and 50's even though I have the temp setting much higher, but granted I have the humidity settings high to season the shelves so I realize the temps are fighting the humidity. It will be much better once filled with cigar boxes, but I would still like to dial in the temp sensor and the humidity sensor if possible. Unfortunately, I cannot find any detailed instructions on how to do so online.

Would anyone here happen to have a copy of the calibration instructions they could share? Thank you!

Well, I’ve certainly stopped worrying about my cool basement!

It’s usually 60-63F (15.5-17C) year round. I am now aiming for 65-67 RH in my soon to be two wineadors. Learned a ton in the last month.

Do you know how long it took me to read this! I started on the toilet and had to go to the shower because it all dried up! (Throw in a cstone jk) 😜...

One thing that was not discussed (unbelievably) is that most RH meters have a +- of 3. So being really hung up on if you can perfectly get them to the desired humidity may be a moot point. I use govee for convenient wireless data and I aim for 67 in my basement coolidor.

I do find that without a little fan I need to periodically rotate them or move my humidification device. When I move my RH meter to different parts of the box readings change enough to set off my OCD.
