Purchased first humidor, Got a question

Ok, I calibrated my digital hygrometer. Put it in the humidor, which has been seasoning for 4 days. Its been reading 66% all day. The only thing that's in there is the hygrometer and a shot glass of distilled water. Problem? Or fill it with smokes?

Personally, I would let it continue seasoning for another day or 3... perhaps place the activated beads or an additional shot glass in there.
You want it to stay at the current level with your sticks in it, if not higher to others opinion. So ideally you'll get it to 70/75 while seasoning & no sticks.
I personally like mine in the 65% range, I then dry box what I'm going to smoke for a few hours.
I'm sure you've read many of the posts on this topic, so I'll leave it here with my opinion.

Good Luck!!

Thanks Bear! I have the Boveda pouches but I didn't think it would be a good idea to put them in there with the shot glass. I think I will let it keep seasoning for another day. If its still at 66% tomorrow, I'll figure something else out.

...actually, it's a good idea for a new environment, as long as you use distilled water.  Bovida will absorb as well as give off humidity.  Should work quite well.

I keep the little Bovida's I get in a tupperware with a small sponge made soft with DI water.  I've taken packs that were rather dried out that absorbed water and really came around after a week or two.  I use them when I ship cigars.

I read, I believe on their site, not to mix things with the packs because they would fight each other.
I am trying different things and one of them is going to be with the packs and the shot glass.

A shot glass of distilled water won't put up much of a fight..... ;)   I've done it for years, never had an issue.

I'll bet they mean humidifiers with PG in them....I can see how that could be an issue.

After 4hrs with nothing in there but the hygrometer, its holding steady at 65%.
Couple of packs and some stogies should be good to go. Gonna do that tomorrow.

Thanks for all the help, guys.
Its sitting pretty at 65% with 2 69% Bovida packs and about half full with smokes.

ETA: I hate the OG like Kendall Hates Apple...LOL

That is a pretty strong feeling. You might want to seek professional help for it. It will consume you.

Trust me. It wasn't my choice. I hate OG too.

Humi is still doing great! Thanks to all that helped.

Glad to hear it bro!!
Now to get a head start on the next one before you overfill the first.

I will probably do a tupperdor next. Just for the ease of use, size, and price. Plus, I can buy boxes of sticks that I like and store them in there.
