Went to Walmart last night, gave me an opportunity to light up and knock something off my honeydo list at the same time.

Anyway, upon coming out and loading my truck. I hear a car floor its gas pedal. As I turn around, it slams its breaks on and the passenger door fly's open. Don't know what I'm looking at at first but, it turned out to be a girl attempting to get out of the car.

At first I thought they were playing, they weren't. She gets out two thirds of the way and abruptly(sp) gets yanked in to the car. At this point I start running towards the car and the girl manages to get out.

The guy then proceeds to whip around the parking island and head back toward her. His only problem, I'm in between him and the girl now. He stops, looks at me and asked me what. I looked back for a moment(I wanted to make sure she was out of harms way) and proceeded to ask him if he'd like to try that on me.

For a second it looked like he might but, the coward that normally does things like this new better. He turned his car around and I told him that he was a punk beatch. He sped off.

I went to look for the girl to see if I could get her home safely. She was nowhere to be found.

In this day and age I hear to much about how women and children are being abused after the fact. I do believe that last night marks the end of anyone attempting to do it around me. This makes for a great new years resolution. Of course, I'll never tell my wife as she knows how little I fear. Scares her.

Just some things to keep in mind. Sometimes, these guys will do what ever it takes to get to the girl and that girl or "victim" will turn on YOU in a heartbeat. So you could be fighting the guy with the girl on your back. Domestic Violence can get pretty hairy!

Just food for thought :)

Dumb broad probably went around the corner and got back in the car with him.

Good for you though! Guys that think they are tough for beating on a girl need to be shown that they aint so tough.

Good for you..... but as Dave pointed out, the "victim" could turn in a heartbeat and be on your back while you are fighting with her boyfriend/husband....

By doing what you did you gave her the opportunity to "get away"..... if that is what she really wanted.

I don't know if I would so much call her a "dumb broad". But, certainly I've seen the latter more than a few times...

...noble act on your part - thankfully you walked away from that unscathed. The most dangerous act a law enforcement officer faces is a domestic situation. More officers are killed answering domestics than any other calls they receive. You just never know.

And from personal experience with a couple of abusive boyfriends my daughters have dated. The little shits just don't like to give up. Hopefully you don't have the assclown now trying to follow you around to "even the score". Remember - abusing a woman is about control - if he thinks you forced him to lose control of his relationship by your actions, no doubt he's gonna take it out on you. And don't let size fool ya. You don't have to be big to pull a trigger...

Did what you thought was right at the time... good job. You have no idea what really happened and she probably will go back to him, but at least you tried to help.

...pretty much this exact scenario has happened to LEO friends of mine. DV calls are always touchy......buddy of mine went on a call and it was all cool until the G.F. figured out that the B.F. was going to jail. She turned on the cops and took a swing at them. They both ended up being hauled off.

But, good for you for getting involved. Glad it worked out OK....

This usually happens more often than not......

He doesn't have to follow me. If he looks at the back of my truck he'll see in big white letters. CTOutdoorsmen.com an outdoor website that I run. Find me there anytime. As I said before guys, I can take care of myself.

Just ask the Possums in my neighborhood. :D

It is very comendable what you did and yes it has it's consequences, good and bad. On the one hand in this day and age you would be surprised how many people wouldn't step in to help or think to themeselves "it's not my problem". Then turn on the news the following day to hear this person was found dead in a ditch, I am sure the guilt would set in. Then as others have stated you "take the bullet" for a complete stranger in hopes you made a difference, and weren't just caught up in a stupid lovers quarrel where they forget about what happend tomorrow and tell people "thats just how we get along". It comes down to morals and values, and you my friend seem to be a very moraly sound guy but your actions may not be for everyone IMHO.

Just be careful and take care of yourself in these situations. I work in a hospital, and we see it often where a Good Samaritan gets hurt...

Domestic violence calls are the number one killer of cops.

That said I have done what you did a couple times in the past. Once I had to pull my gun on some dope who thought a short chubby guy would be an easy target. He backed off real quick when faced with the business end of a .38 special. That is the only time I have ever pointed a gun at another person.

It may take more of your time...but if you had the vehicle and/or tag...a call to the local PD would log the issue. If memory serves, most if not all Walmarts(I'll have to look into that numbers) now have cameras outside due to an incident a while back.

Nice job!

That's quite a story. Yeah, you could've been hurt, killed and what not. But you weren't. A bit of pride comes with that in knowing that you did what you could to do the right thing and prevailed! I was on the vicitim end of a jealous ex-boyfriend once who was also leaning towards the abusive type. I took great pride in the fact that not only did I thwart his attempts to fight me (in my house) and his ex, but that the law slapped a pretty stiff penalty on him for busting in my house to and causing a fracus. (8 years probation 2 k fine and 200 hours community service) It's amazing what people will do for "love"
