So I'm looking for a box of Montecristo No 2's for my boss. I emailed Havana House to get a list of "authorized" dealers near me. So I go to check them out and both want over 700 CDN for a box.

And then I find this site. I see there is a list of online retailers with prices half of what I found around here. So it looks like 700 is a ripoff. But since I don't want to get ripped off, are the online retailers here reputable? Nothing like giving your boss a box of fake cubans....

I was able to find a few decent comments about Xxxxx Xxx'x and Xxxxxxxx. Nothing about the others.

Would someone like to share experiences about these retailers? Any other comments to help search/pocketbook would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks from a complete neophyte.

I would edit a whole lot of that, and read the rules first. No discussing sources. Cuban goods are illegal in the US.

Welcome.
Please introduce yourself in the intro area and maybe update your profile.
Enjoy the ride!

I'm guessing from his checking out the retailers near him that stock these items that neophyte is in Canada.
But still, mentioning specific sources in public forums is frowned upon on this site.

Even sources flashing across the banner on the top of this page? Surely they've been outed already. They are kind of hard to miss and I don't even smoke.

So I can't even discuss puroexpress since they are on top of my page right now? I can see not outing "Bob" the tobacconist since he's been so good to you over the years.

US people sure have it tough as far as cigars go....

Correct. We do not discuss sources on this board. Of course, local B&M's in Canada, or elsewhere that Cubans are legal may be discussed.

And yes, US people have it tough, but we somehow find the power to go on.

So are the forum advertisers game for discussion or not? Clearly they ship from where cubans are leagal. And it's not that I want to discuss product, but rather the quality of everyone's dealings with them. Did they ship in a timely matter? Was there product reasonable? Any difficulties? Would you try them again?

And what is the going rate for a box of montecristo Np.2's anyway?

And a special thanks to those who took the time to PM.

Best to take this to PM. If you have questions about a certain vendor, post something like this:

I have a question about a certain vendor, someone please PM me w/ further details.

OK im a complete newb but how is telling a guy who lives in Canada about a place that will sell him something that is legal for him to get anyway "outing a source" or did he edit his profile to indicate his location after he originally posted his question?

It's not outing a source, I said discussing a source.

He can talk about Cuban cigars all he wants since he's from Canada, but discussing sources is another.

If you still aren't following, do a search and find "sources". Read that thread.

So what you're saying is, if I'm in Canada, and I talk about Cuban sources...I just....I lost my train of thought.

OK so I'm clear on this....

If a guy from Hong Kong posts that his local B&M's are crazy expensive and dont have what he wants and he wants to insource some sticks. If someone from Bulgaria posts that he gets his from <<fill in the blank>>. That would be uncool?

I understand when it comes to people here in the states but I fail to see the logic when it involves someone in a country where its completly legit and above board.

these are the rules here. please listen to the long timers and follow th rules please. we do not talk sources of ANY TYPE in an OPEN forum, private message is a whole other game, but not here in a PUBLIC forum.
