Pissed about Modern Warfare 2

Good lordy, your criteria for "story" must be as poor as people who read Twilight. You have 3 games with "story" in that list, and I'd only say one of them has a good one(Halo, bolstered by the books). Haven't played Dragon Age yet though, to be fair.

Edit: I'd argue your use of "tactical" in reference to CODMW as well, but I digress.

Somehow I KNEW you'd be the first to say something about this! You're such a gaming purist, ya heathen! To each his own Joe, but don't insult me with Twilight references please!!

Much like "smoke what you like, like what you smoke....", preferences in gaming entertainment is very much along those lines.

I've never been a big fan of co-op / network play, for the simple reason that I never seem to have the time to really get into it with buddies. My schedule is so freaking irregular that I can't commit to an hour or two on any kind of regular basis. Ergo, I'm a big fan of single player missions / single player gameplay. I can jump in, lay waste to the bad guys, for whaever time I have, whenever I get a chance, and it's a nice break and I find it completely entertaining. To each his own.

I will tell you this - I went ahead and "drank the cool aid" for MW2 and am so far LOVING IT. The story line is interesting, the single player missions are cool, and the graphics / effects are a notch up. I'm a happy player.....

Game on, Bros - B.B.S.

I almost bought this for the pc yesterday....now I will have to rethink it. The $60 cost is what stopped me to begin with. If it was 40 i'd be messing around with it right now....but i'm not sure my pc can even handle it. My son bought it, and says he likes it, for his pc. Guess I'll mess with his before I go out and buy my own.

I was really intrigued by the multiplayer, but if its not very good then I won't get it...solo isn't really my thing.

I am so glad I seen this today! I just bought this game last night but I have not opened it yet. Needless to say it will be going back today!

Thanks

I bought 3 games last weekend

Borderlands - Just awesome, net code is horrible but it should be fixed soon.

Dragon Age - Its BioWare, 'nuff said

Fallout 3 Game Of The Year Edition - Already had the Collector's edition, bought it for all the DLC in one package deal.

Hey Shawn,
Curious.... what's going on with Borderlands? Other than the timeout for joining/restart invite to join bug, I don't have any issues at all with it. I've been playing a TON online and not had any issues- no dropped games or crashes at all. I was a little surprised to see Gamespy used, but so far I've yet to see any problems with it

Toss an friend request to SwissyJim when you get a chance...

I picked up Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition as well, but I'm gonna wait until I get my last big project for the semester finished before I start it, as I'm quite sure it will take up all of my free time.

I loved the first MW, but if MW2 is short enough to beat in a day, then I'll rent it instead. I don't particularly get into multiplayer parts of games. I just re-bought Fallout 3 so I could play all the DLC for it. That will keep me entertained until Assassin's Creed II comes out Tuesday!!! Then onto Heavy Rain and Final Fantasy 13!!!

I have mw2 and beat single player already. Since I moved I need a wireless adapter so I can play live which is what makes these games so good. Anyone know where I can get a deal on one?

So, I accidentally picked the second hardest level of the game and now that I'm on the whitehouse stage I'm seriously thinking about restarting it and doing it again at the harder level because in fact I'm convinced it's going to be too short.

I for one think that the game is awesome, they got rid of the annoying forced-melee mode in some of the older games and the visual scenes and story line is amazing. Going building to building in the US is very eerie. It is short though, you run into some scenes that should take forever, like the siege at the hamburger shop for example. Some scenes are just too short.

I think it's a case where they had a certain budget of time and money and ended up focusing a lot on the exterior game play (planes crashing around you etc....) and it caused them to short the missions. I can't comment much on the online play yet.

One thing that sucks, that I had hoped they had fixed by now, is the ability to play the main missions in co-op mode with 2-3 times the enemies or something, It gets old not being able to crack the game open with your buddies because the campaign has so much more to it then the co-op.

If they ever patch it so that the main campaign is co-op playable from start to end, then I'll pick it up. And it better be for 4 player, not just 2! I doubt it'll happen tho - there are quotes from the CEO of Infinity Ward that says the co-op ruined the immersion and flow of the game so they did not put it in.

I also played this level and agree that that it was awesome while it lasted. Finishing in less than 24 hrs(and not talking gaming hours)was horrible for $60. I could not trade this game in fast enough.

Playing both Dragon Age and Boderlands both are outstanding. Now boderlands is a game that you can play with a buddy split screen and it goes on for ever. I am also playing it on single and I am at level 35 with Lilth. This game seems to have no end and I am loving it. Just started Dragon Age a few days ago really getting into it.

Beatable in a day? That is quite disappointing, especially for a $60 game. I knew about the lacking, to say the least, PC multiplayer but that didn't bother me too much as CoD isn't the type of shooter I'd play online anyways. But the length of the game really concerns me, might try and give it a go before I decide to buy it.

Now, Dragon Age. That is a game fully worth the $65 I spent on it.

Agreed on this. I am really enjoying it.

I tryed my sons out last night, its not a bad game, the graphics are pretty neat and all, but I'm just don't like the first person shooter aspect or whatever its called. Too much going on all around me so I'm constantly at the edge of my seat...i'm sure thats how it is intended i mean the context is that its war for crying out loud....but its just not for me. I get tired from being in the sae position in my seat constantly, and then from redoing and redoing and redoing the same part I fail over and over again until I get it just right. Just makes me want to turn it off at that point.

My Brick is now level 46 doing the 2nd run and I'm just tearing shit to pieces. I'm on Steam Jim, my gaming name is "Wurm" lol
