Pics From Don Pepin Tasting At Belicoso's

Thanks for sharing the pics guys. Looks like a great time. Come to think about it, has anyone ever had a bad time smoking with the fellas?

Great pictures and stories guys. It looks and sounds like it was an awesome time!

Wow, thanks guys for sharing your HERF. It looks like it was a blast and that baseball bat is freakin awesome!!

I want to thank all the CP guys who made it out. It made the 1 yr anniversary that much more special.

As Far as Don Pepin. Where do I begin.

I made it to the store about noon to hang out with the managers and other friends. About 1PM Don Pepin, Renee, and Pepins daughter walked in. Guess they wanted to check out the place before it got packed. Pepin kept comenting what a wonderful shop this was . He sat down and had an expresso. So I figured I would make my move..LOL! I walk up to him and in spanish asked him.. "TELL ME YOUR STORY" He got a smile on his face and said Where do you want me to begin?" I said from the beginning. He told me some of the most interesting stories about growing up in CUBA and being one of the top rollers and winning many awards for blending and using new mtehods of cultivating tobacco in CUBA. He is a true master.

I asked him what factory he rolled for. A majority of his rolls were for Montecristo. A majority of his blends were made for lets say for the big 3.
He told me alot of things that were particularly puzzliling and completely off the wall. Some of the stuff completely shocked me and at the same time amused me. Alot of stuff he told me in confidence and I feel very lucky to have spoken with him for the length of time we did.

He is one of the most humble men I have met. Always listened and answered all of the qustions we had for him. A cple ppl had me translate some questions they had.

We spoke almost the entire night.
Between him drinking some HC7, rolling cigars, signing autographs, smoking cigars..he even had time to dance and sing for us. His daighter told us tat we made him feel very welcome and felt special being a part of 1 yr anniversary party. At one point he said you need to come to my finca in Nicaragua..So looks like a trip will be planned for next year!! WOoHOO!!

At about 8PM my GF comes runing to the back (i was getting a refill on some rum..lol) And she told hury DON PEPIN is looking for you ..
So i went back out front. He said. I want to roll you a custom cigar. I was in shock. I think I looked like a deer caught in headlights.

He proceeded to roll me a cigar HE SAID HE HAS NEVER ROLLED FOR ANYONE ELSE.. I felt so honored...
It was a churchill Dos Capas. With a butterfly end cap ( maduro and natural butterfly tail)

I have lots of pics I will post up.

I will also be taking pics pf the basebal bat, the pipe and my butterfly and post them up .
Also a fellow CP member videotaped a majority of the night. As soon as he edits it for the web I will ask him to post it up for everyone to view.

Thanks for organizing everything Alex, had a great time, Don Pepin turned out to not only be a gentleman, but a true master of his trade. Free cigars, great food, and a whole lot of BOTLS, what more could a man ask for. :)

Good gosh, what fantastic photos and stories! Thank you all for sharing. Makes it feel almost like I was there...except for the cigars, the buddies, and meeting the Don. :D

Wilkey

Y'all should have seen Alex. He was giggling like a schoolgirl the whole night

Looks like a great time, what a privelage to meet a cigar industry legend, thanks for sharing these pics.

Gawd, fellas! You all related a true Zenlike experience. I'd be afraid to speak with Pepin - afraid I'd insult him or something. As for the invite to Nicaragua, enjoy. I'd be very uncomfortable.

Great pics and even better stories... the best reason I've heard for learning Spanish! I may have to fire up that Rosetta Stone software the Army is supposed to make available to us! :)

Thanks for the great stories and pics. It sounds like you guys had a day you will not soon forget.

Thanks for sharing fellas, looks and sounds like agreat time was had by all!

It was a GREAT event, I truly was honored that I got to meet the man.. And to top it off, DP made me a one-of-a-kind cigar as well.. (mind you its not like Alex's treasure)

But I love it nontheless...

Why don't you just shut up and go to work like the rest of us! :sign:

Eric calls me @ 9:30 to brag that he's going to a fun Herf, while I'm hard at work.... jag off!

Sounds like a good time. Awesome pics, keep them coming.

OK, so who has more pictures of Miss Pepin?????? I mean, you guys are interesting, but not THAT interesting.....

Wow, just WOW! I have to agree w/ Matt R, ya'll are some great guys, but ugly as hell, need more chicky pics.

So, I'm busting my ass at work and you guys are having all the fun?!

Thanks for the pics and stories guys, it does look like a wonderful time was had by all.

Matt, I belive she was single also. How cool would it be to have Don Pepin as your father in law. "Hey daddio, my gar is gettin' close to the nub, roll me up a diademas when you get a chance!"

It was a very classy cigar bar with great managers, and the best host anyone could ask for!! Alex, you really took care of your boyz. The rum was fabulous, the cigar was awesome, and hangin' out was great. Hell of a party. It was great to meet everyone else also Cochise, thanks for the trade, it was fun!!

On a closing note: Alex, I had to head out after the lounge closed. Sorry I didn't meet you out for a drink. BUT!! Guess who was sitting on the bench outside the Comfort Inn when I rolled up????

Yes, zero himself!!!! Pepin and Renee were sitting there smoking a cigar as I walked by. With my limited spanish, all I could muster was, "Viva Don Pepin!!", then a quiet "Buenas noches, seniores." and a hand shake.

Great time.

Cool story Quade.

Janny had a huge rock on her left ring finger, so I'm pretty sure she's taken...otherwise she'd have come back to Green Bay with me!
