Pepin Whores: Padilla Achilles @ CI

The Achilles is not really a Pepin cigar. Ernesto came up with the blend.

Nice smoke, especially for the price. Only thing I didn't like was the delicate wrapper. Thx for the heads up Martin.

I looked at the price and figured "what the heck" and got in on the special yesterday AM. Ordered two bundles / 24 smokes.

Turns out I had one of these from a previous purchase, so I blazed it up last night. While it won't replace my Don Pepin Blue's, it was a very spicy, tasty smoke. Construction and burn were perfect; drew like a champ and burned just fine. No wrapper issues on the one I had. Not bad at all....when you consider that from CI on special with shipping they turn out to be about $2.50 a stick.

Not a "premium" to be sure, but for the price I think they are going to be great daily smokers...... Something to have between my staple Padron 2K's....

Regards - B.B.S.

You sure about that? Or are you thinking of the Padilla Hybrid?

You are correct...

The Achilles is "a beautiful handmade blended by Ernesto and crafted by Jose "Pepin" Garcia".

Still not a bad cigar for the price. As mentioned above, the only major drawback, IMO, is the extremely fragile wrapper. Take care when clipping/punching it,though, and it should be fine.

mine are dry as hell, they're shedding their wrappers.

hopefully they're salvagable.

still tastey though.
