Pepin cigars are tasting funny...

It's time to face the facts on the DPG Black Label. This cigar is a full-bodied dog rocket. It's strong, but it tastes like crap. There you have it. The blend of this cigar is just 'off'. Don't know how else to put it. If you want to argue this point, I would first ask that you compare this cigar to the Tat Brown Labels, the Tat Red Labels, the 601 Red. All of these cigars have the Pepin bite to them, but they taste good.

Anyway, I know this is all 100% subjective :) it's my .02 and my .02 only, but "the White Label is the right label" when it comes to the DPGs. That's a good cigar with a little bit of Pepin bite and good deal of creamy tobacco. Fantastic blend.

Of all the Pepin products I've tried, the Black Perlas are my favorite by far, and they also burn the best. I also really like the Tat red labels but 3 out of 5 cigars need to be re-touched too often for my liking, this takes away from the experience for me... that said, I know Pete tends to make cigars for himself first and I noticed in the CA video he stated he was more concerned with flavor then how a cigar burns.

95% of the cigars I smoke are Pepin creations. There ain't nothing funny about them.

Doc.

Oh, I don't know.
The pigtails sometimes give me a little chuckle. Can't explain but there you have it!

Just keep the inkwells away from me! ;)

Diyaaaaamn. I got pounded in this thread. Well, I probably had it comin.

If I had to choose between Fuentes and Pepins, I would be in trouble. Every other day I'm reaching for one or the other, with the exception of the occasional dark side. The black and blue labels are just my least favorite. There, that's more polite.
