Growing too fast.
Got up to a miserable looking day with rain pouring, so much for the beautiful weather. At least it’s not as cold with temps in the lower 50’s. This morning’s smoke is a Partagas Short from ’05. Construction is slightly coarse with one vein runny down one side. I punched the cap and tested the draw to find it just a bit loose. Fire to the foot and the draw really opened up and loads of smoke came through.
This is one spicy little cigar with a good bit of power in the smoke but still very smooth, almost creamy. Tastes of vanilla bean and toasted almonds come through with what seems like a citrus flavor. I have to take it slow on this cigar, as the strength is a medium/full. The finish is smooth and clean with a nice aftertaste.
There was one spot where it seemed to want to go out; however with a few puffs the fire caught back up and smoke flowed well again. I really like the Partagas profile with the smooth vanilla and roasted nut flavors. I will say this smoke is more suited for a cold winter evening after a nice dinner. Not particularly a morning/breakfast smoke.
