I haven't seen any traffic on the next release of the Padon Family Reserve which I expected to be the 47th (since last year was 46 'n all). Was the 85 this year's FR release?

Yes. Presumably the next FR will be the 48.
ETA:
Then 49, 50, 51, 90, 53...

Aw hell. I'm down to my last FR 46 and was hoping to pick up a box of this year's release. How do the 85s compare to the 46s/45s?

The Padrons are holding off on any new Family Reserve cigars until the 50th anniversary. Their new release this year is the 1964 No.4, which is a 6.5 x 60...a half inch longer than the SI-15 which was made for Smoke Inn.
The 47 is actually the No.85, named for the old man's birthday.

So there will be no 48 or 49. Most likely they will release... something else?

So is the '64 60 ring coming out soon?

The 85th in my opinion is better than the 46th. More complexity and subtlety.

Agreed.

Yup. Just spoke with them. I expect to have them in about 2-3 weeks. That's when they'll start shipping them out.

Thanks Isy for the great info!

Thats great info Isy. As for the Famiy Reserve the 85th is beter than the 46, but the 45 is the best in my opinion. They are great!
