Padron 80th, Maduro

So yesterday, I closed out my weekend with a Padron 80th, Maduro. It was amazing! I normally break reviews up into thirds, but after this one got going, it was consistant through out. It sharted out very smooth right off the bat, which to me is a sign of a tremendous cigar and the prelude to a great smoking experience. The initial flavors were earthy tones with a little bit of fruit notes. The cigar matured into cherry and chocolate notes with some muted spice and earthy notes. The cherry and cocolate continued through out the rest of the smoking experience. It was an amazing cigar. Certainly worth a try if you can find one.

I really like these but have to choose the time I smoke them pretty carefully. The last one I had made my head spin something terrible and almost made me sick from the buzz. It made me feel like a complete lightweight! Great flavors and perfect construction. I think I still prefer the #9 Maduro though...

The only Padron that I've smoked that has been better that the 80th is the Family Reserve. Very nice!

Interesting bit of trivia I learned recently: all of the Padrón 80th cigars are rolled by one guy. Yep, every single one of them was created by one rolled @ Padrón.

He was recently injured, and they had to stop production of the cigar while he recovered (and in the meantime, they've been training two more rollers to be able to roll that cigar, but it takes time to teach them).

I smoked my first on Friday night and have pretty much the same thoughts. It started out very smooth, tons of smoke and tasted fantastic.

I only smoked one thus far but that is going to change soon (thanks Israel :thumbs: )
I really liked it, it is a heck of a cigar unfortunately not for every day due to its price and rarity.

Although the 80th is an incredible stick I have to say the best for me was a 40th that a certain member that shares my name gifted me about a year ago. That stick was amazing from start to finish. Thanks Bro

The 40th was meh.
Last 80th I smoked I pitched it halfway.
I have found all high-end Padrons to have a very loose draw as well.
I do, however, like the 64s and looooved the Millenium (loose draw though!)

Just gotta try a FdR!

Most times I find I'd rather have a x000 series with 5 years on it!

I've only had a couple of the 40ths and 80ths, however they were very good smokes for me. Course, there are a number of Padrons other than those that I thought tasted like...cardboard. I've got quite a few 5000 that are smoking really good. Matter of fact, I might just go have one.

Well, if you have any Padrons of the 26, 40, or 80's you need to unload...

Could not agree more. This has to be one of the better cigars I've had in a long time. Only downside is they are a tad pricey. The taste is consistant throughout like you mentioned.
