Ordering online...how are they shipped?

When purchasing online, how are the somkes shipped to you? Is there a big chance that they will get damaged? How do they stay fresh/humidified?

They are usually shipped very well, cause the vender doesn't want the burden of replacing sticks. Some come with humi pouches some don't.

Well after spending a few minutes mesmerized by Jessica Simpson's butt.. I forgot what the Question was....lol

Oh yea got it. I have no problem with cigars being shipped, I agree with gtphale. the only thing I do notice is that some times the cigars are a bit over humidified to my liking, but that is an easy fix, just put in the humidor and let them settle down before smoking, if that is the case.

The packages I receive have a Humi pack inside, and then they are carefully wrapped and protected, then boxed. So if you were worried, there is really no need.

I've got an almost 100% success rate with shipping, from a variety of vendors. The rare times things were not in good shape, in all cases the goods were quickly replaced.

I must be having bad luck then. I ordered the RP sampler and two of the sticks were split (barely, but still). I also ordered the genghis khan chest and more than half the sticks were damaged. The chest itself was packed nicely, but the sticks banged around inside the chest during shipping. I'm sure the local heat and humidity didn't help either. Still in the process of getting those replaced, but CBid has been very helpful so far.

So far it seems like the packing is good, and if there's a problem a reputable vendor will do what it takes to make it right. Really, for the prices, I can deal with smoking the occasional 'imperfect' stick.

It's best to let any ordered sticks stabilize in your humidor for a few days to a few weeks. Especially once you get the humidity level to exactly where you like it.

I'd say I've become rather an expert at 'gar shipments over the past 8 months, lol.

I've tested the shipping in what can be said are the harshest conditions. I think over all it depends who you order from, but for the most part mail orders are shipping very well.

I've done many orders and recieved many bombs out here in Iraq, and everything has always arrived in perfect condition. The 7-12 days shipping along with the extreme heat can cause issues, so I never smoke anything unless it's been in the humi after shipping for at least a week or more.

But overall, I'd say most online retailers are good about how they package them. A lot even send them with a water pillow or humidipack.

I figure if I can get a shipment out here flawless after 10 days of transportation, then 2-3 days in the states should be pretty easy.
