Opus X BBMF Maduro (2007)

Nice review- what did you put on the table to protect from wear and tear?

Super nice table and an even better evening w/ your lady! Love the way the table turned out and way to go tributing the first ash to Brian! Great review of the BBMF maduro.

Table looks nice bro!!!

But, I thought I told you not to smoke the good stuff until I came out next Spring?

 I couldn't resist it dude!!! :D

To seal the table I used multiple coats of decoupage, and then at the final steo approxiamtely 10-15 coats of high gloss polyurethane acrylic.

Do it Joe, you sexy Philippino bastard!! It was easily my most favorite Fuente smoke I've EVER had.

The setting and mood may have also had something to do with it Jon.

Nice review and background story to go with it. You're right! Brian always was a fan of smoking the good stuff while you could. It was almost prophetic the mantra by which he lived.

I would cover it in a layer of fiberglass cloth and then brush on a layer of epoxy resin. It's what they do with wood boats now days. After the epoxy cures I would brush on a couple coats of polyurethane...this will keep the epoxy from yellowing because it blocks UV rays. This will give you nice thick, ultra-durable, almost clear finish (the fiberglass soaks up the resin an turns clear). If you do this you wont need coasters.

You can also skip the cloth and just pour on the resin.

BTW, great review
