I'd actually prefer it. More informal environment, plus we don't have to worry about who likes what, what time to eat, where to go, how much to spend, etc, etc.
 
The place I am looking at would charge us 200 dollars for the room for the whole night...we can cater appetizers and have an open bar for a per person fee...waiting for an email back from the owners

I like the idea of a cocktail party. That way, everyone can go eat where they like. For those who want to do dinner together, they can. Then we can all meet around 8PM (or whenever) and drink and smoke the rest of the night. We can hold a few raffles as well. I like this idea...

This is getting friggin' ridiculous. How many times have you changed the date now, four going on five? What the hell was wrong with Mother's Day weekend? I could've made that but having this on Memorial Day weekend seems kind of stupid. Traveling that weekend will be a real pain in the ass.

I had no problem making reservations. For some of us who have women in our lives, Mother's Day wasn't going to happen. It's been Memorial Day Weekend for close to a month now. :rolleyes:

Traveling wont be so bad. If you book early.

Bullshit "close to a month" :rolleyes:

He started this thread on January 30th (three weeks ago) and when he did, the date was the weekend of May 13th & 14th which was still the case the last time I saw the thread less than two weeks ago. I don't know where you're getting this "close to a month now" nonsense from.

More like a week or two........

The bottom line is he changed it once AGAIN which is getting ridiculous as I pointed out in my last post in this thread.

First off some of us don't have women in our lives and for those of you who have women and/or children in your lives, do you think the little lady and your babies aren't going to throw an equal level of hissy fit if you'e going to be away on Memorial Day weekend as opposed to Mother's Day?

Memorial Day weekend is not a very good weekend to plan a herf and if anything, it's worse than Mother's Day weekend.

Oh wow thanks for pointing that out to me alex. So if I book my plans NOW, that means there will be LESS people traveling on Memorial Day weekend than if I wait a few weeks, right? Can you please explain to me how "booking early" is related to the number of people traveling on one of the busiest travel weekends of the year?

I'm going to have to try this for Thanksgiving this year! If I book NOW for November of 2006, hell with your reasoning, the airports will be empty! :thumbs:

The date was accepted by Rod..please voice your complaints to him. If he felt there was something wrong with changing the dates I am sure he would have let me know. There is no reason to jump into this thread and kick up a fuss...I am sorry the date does not work out for you. It was changed to accomodate as many members as possible, and it is unfortunate that it does not work out for you.
 
Matty - It sure seems to me you're taking Rod's name in vain when you attach it to the "approval" process over this whole fiasco. I'm sure he would just LOVE to get a few PM's "complaining" about YOUR screwing around with the choice for dates... :rolleyes:
 
Dates sound even better for me now. Been announced and the majority felt it was a better weekend. Guess its a case where you can't please everyone.
