Hey guys quick question, I have a small humidor (holds about 40 sticks), and there's 30 or so in it now. Well I just got a box of 20 Alec Bradley's MAXX as a gift and don't have room to store them. Can i just leave the plastic on the box or do I need to open it and toss in one of those DryMistat HumidiTubes? Any other ideas?

Well, I'm sure someone else is typing this at the same time I am. I would think the best option would be to set up a coolerdor. You can find a pinned link on how to do that in the Humidor section of the forum.(CLICK ME) A 49 qt cooler can hold roughly 15 boxes. Yeah... sounds like a lot, but stick around and become a part of this community and it becomes a neccessity pretty quckly.

Just food for thought. Guess you could also grab a large Fuente humidor bag at the cigar shop and toss in a couple boveda packs...

What about just leaving it on the closet shelf in its box?

Mac already answered ya. Get a coolerdor, or a big fuente bag, or shoot to your nearest Wally World and buy a tupperware container, throw the sticks in, and some humidification device.

Leaving the box out on the closet shelf will only make the sticks dry.

And check the "introduce yourself here" thread as well! Welcome to CP.

Sounds like a good problem to have...and I'm sure most of us have been there! :p

will they dry if i toss a DryMistat HumidiTube in the original box with them

If you do that at least place the box in a big zip lock bag or go buy some tupperware. The box they ship the cigars in won't seal properly and your sticks are going to dry out fast.

I have been using a zip lock bag over one of those free little humidors they send with sticks from CI as an overflow box all summer. It's worked out well as I don't really have air conditioned space for a coolerdor.

For a temporary fix, keep the cello on the box and put it in a zip lock bag. Throw in one of those humi pouchs like those that come inside fuente boxes and that will hold you over till you get something better set up. I would imagine it would be good for at least a few weeks. I was recently on vacation for three weeks and did that with a box I picked up till I got back home. They were in good condition when I got back. I even picked up a few of those humi pouches for free from the local B&M since he had extras that came with the boxes he was selling.

Good Luck!
